I just DLd a show. Im liking it, hard to tell at first but I think Im hooked
Do you delete you Wavs once their burned and just play the FLAC fom desktop
Can you give a best practice on you organize your PJ stuff. And your IPOD
Its hard. Ive Dld about 35 of your shows and Im out of space. I have an external hard drive and thats almost full too
If you still have the wav files on your computer, through iTunes you can convert them to AAC, which is around 128 kbps, instead of 1411 kbps (or something like that) that wav is. It'll save you a hell of a lot of space.
For me though, once i have a show in FLAC, i listen to it, and then burn it to CD, and delete the files from my PC. What i've done w/the 2008 shows though, is ripped them all to FLAC on my PC, then made data DVD's of all the shows, so i have backups of them if i need them. I'm doing that w/the 2000 shows as i go too.

What do you use to burn? I converted to wav (wow those are big files) but couldnt burn wav with ITUnes or Windows Media Player. And Nero isnt free.
I DLd the FLAC front end....but couldnt figure out how to convert FLAC to wav so I used Switch
Also you mentioned converting the wavs to AAC....how does AAC match up to MP3?
I already have about 20 shows in ITunes/IPod already so Ill just leave them as is. Now if ITUnes could store FlAC that would be something! Surprised they dont with how popular FLAC are. But then storage is an issue
Here is the part Im confused on. The difference between FLAC and WAV. After you burn you erase off the PC so from that point on you are using WAVs (CD).
Im realy not a nOOb ha! Just new to this FLAC world but loved what I heard so far of it
Chris,
Do you have some shows already in FlAC because they are better shows overall--or are you just going in random order. I saw some on down the list were already flac'ed up--is that because they are great shows? Thanks for everything. peace

Just decided to do the Euro shows in no particular order, i'm going to get through those first before i do the 2 North American legs.

Any chance someone has FLAC versions of the 5-10/11 shows from Bellingham and Vancouver?
And thanks for doing this. I've got the whole 2000 tour, and the other day I pulled out one of my favs...Cardiff, attempted to convert to vbr mp3 for iTunes and half-way through the disc kept getting errors.

I recently finished my collection of backing up to DVD all of the official releases years 00 - 08 in FLAC and its great to see you helping the folks out who need em still. I know how good it feels to have them safely tucked away just in case - cheers to you.
In the end I was missing 3 shows total that were missing on the site I use, not sure why...... but I got them from you so I thank you for that and your quality of rips.

Man I hate megaupload................i can only get like one show every so often rrrrrrrrrrrr
but its still cool what your doing
Do what i used to do, pay the $9.99 for a month, and just download like fuckin' crazy, stockpile shows. Listen to and burn as many as you can, and download more in that month. I'd do that here and there, and i'd get hundreds of shows, and quick.

I was gonna ask you, if you thought i should pay for Megaupload. I guess that answers my question>LOL!!
Yup! Paying for it seems necessary if you plan on getting a bunch. I dowloaded a hundred or so literally since I wanted all years in only FLAC so I had no choice. You can download as many as you want at a time if you wish with no wait.
I got it all within a month - most sites that you will find or here on this thread will have complete years - even 08 but shame on them :( Its good that Leather is keeping this going for those in need.
I did not want to pay for Mega at first but it was a must - that and 100 Taiyo Yuden DVDs set me back less than 50 bucks total so it was worth it for me as I am now officially done.

Yea, i SHOULD probably pay for Megaupload, becuase i'm trying to get as many boots, as possible.
Just backing them up to DVD. I filled my external drive with shows I needed and then burned it to DVD-R for safe keeping. When I feel the need with the FLAC I will use them to produce what I want to make CD's for listening but mainly my goal was getting all the shows in FLAC format on DVD first.

I didn't know you could burn them to DVD-R. I'm VERY low-tech-LOL!! Hell, i just learned how to get FLACS to play, and to burn them to CD's. Thanks for that info.
Yeah, I've already burned all my 2008 CD's (All 13) to DVD via FLAC (plus burned backup copies on my lightscribes using the scans i made). And as i'm uploading all the 2000 shows to FLAC, i'm burning those to DVD as well.
It makes it easier to trade too, you can send someone a whole tour in FLAC on about 15-16 DVD's.
I'm in the midst of huge transitioning right now, and it's going to take me years. I'm converting every single show i have into FLAC (by downloading FLAC versions, or getting them through trades) and re-burning all my shows on lightscribe CD-R's.
Then i plan to upload whatever i have to the internet to share the jam. It's going to take a long time, which is why i've created a blogspot, which i'll share the link to in a little while, i just want to get some shows on it first.
So for any of you waiting on shows from me, all i ask is patience.

Aye - I lightscribed a few of my "Special" shows with some nice scans I did too hehe. We think alike and I love the lightscribe stuff
Best of luck with the uploads, I know its a lot of work. And I had a question if any 2008 shows would be released whats your point?
Just random that you're asking about 2008 DVD's in a 2000 Audio Bootleg thread.
