What kinds of aquariums do you have?

Here's mine:
29g freshwater community
36g assorted rainbowfish
55g african cichlids

I also have a 44g corner hex that is sitting empty and a 150g that I am currently resealing. I hope to get pics on here sometime.

What ya got?

I used to have big tanks. Had Oscars and a Snakehead. Man, they always just grew so big and never died! I had to give them away when I moved forever ago!

My cat passed a few months ago, and I am still devastated, but miss a pet. Going to get the plant and fish today. Tank has been running since last night, should be good to go.

I had a 155 gal saltwater tank for 10+ years and 2 smaller freshwater tanks

I loved my aquarium days, my fish friends a joy but I most especially miss my Puffy,
Pinstripe Puffer, he is young here ... he grew quite large

    Aquar2.jpg

    Aquar3.jpg

we had a thing going on from the moment we laid eyes on each other

Puffy's eyes a most beautiful aqua marine color. He reminded me of
    Mr Limpet.

I got sick in 09 and couldn't do the stairs. He missed me for 3 months.
I got up there and he came to me across the tank ... to my hand on the glass

    he had stopped eating

just a couple few days later he passed but he waited for me... I loved him so
A wonderful memory in my life he was.

Finally! A PJ aquarium thread!! :P

20 years ago I had a 20 gallon tank overstuffed with 6 goldfish. After retutning some 'gifts' this past holiday, I found myself with $100.00 in my pocket, so I figured "What the Hell", and decided to rediscover my affinity for goldfish that I had neglected for the past 20 years. $450.00 + later, I now have a 36 gallon set-up (hood/light/heater) and three goldfish, and a possible divorce in my future as my wife cannot understand why I am obsessing over these $2.99 bundles of joy. Senor Fishie, Fishie Glub Glub, and Dingo Fish have been battling some Ick issues this week, but all three are on the mend as of this morning. In fact, I am heading to my local pet store this morning to get some more fish medication.

Uh...I just reread what I wrote; no wonder my wife is going to leave me.

Just one tank 29 Gal with a 14 year old Placo, a couple of little cat fish and 3 frogs. I've kept fish since I was 4 years old. I would love a much larger tank some day.......

I had african frogs for the longest time. I had one "missing" for about a week when one night I was watching tv and a dustball came hopping across my living room floor! Put him back in and he was right as rain!

    Pandora, WOW! Nice fish!

I got my beta set up with a cute little plant and a moss ball. Seems happy so far!

Love your plec! We started with two in ours, then they had babies, then the babies had babies, and they also had babies. Unfortunately, something went drastically wrong in our aquarium about 18 months ago and all our fish died except for 2 plecs (good thing male and female) and one of our angel fish (Slash). So... sorted fish tank got neons (because hey are lovely) and some other orangey small community fish. Plecs had babies (yay!) but supposedly friendly orange community fish ate all our neons and all our babies. Then female plec died. So now only male plec (Oscar), Slash (who laid eggs, so not really 'Slash'!) and those orange things.

    Lots of drama here!

Thinking of getting another female plec, a male for Slash, some small schooling fish and getting rid of those orange ones.....

A 125 gallon freshwater tank over a handmade aquarium pinewood cabinet. We have about 13 or so fishes mainly orange/tri coloured angel, discus and others I can't remember. Filtered by a Marineland 530, I have to say it's the best filter ever and very quiet.

I'll try and post some pictures if I can figure out just how to do that. ;)

Heeheee, exactly what I was thinking!

I have a 55 freshwater community tank, with a crawfish that I saved from a crawfish boil last year. My favs are my 3 clown loaches, who are hilarious. I've had a tank for as long as I can remember...one day I would love to do salt water!!! Pre-Katrina I had a 29, with a gigantor Pleco that I liked to think was able to swim through the toxic sludge (5 feet of water in my house) and make it to Lake Pontchartrain, where he is has happily grown to 5 feet long. :):)

saltwater can be a challenge it is a lot of work and an investment but extremely rewarding
having a support informative friend or a trustworthy store or both!... helps much

when choosing my Pinstripe Pufferfish this meant I would have a marine tank fish only
    not a reef tank
Puffers will nibble at the coral and can injure/kill it and foul the tank
I also could not have any Crustaceans they would be lunch for Puffy!

Sucky does look a bit prehistoric! I've only ever had bristlenose plecos and they don't get all that big. My biggest was my first male Olaf - he was 14.5cm (we measured him when he died). My current adult male Oscar is about 12cm, no bigger. I think he has grown all he is going to as well.

14 years, nice!!! Which brings up the question, how old is everyone's oldest fish? My oldest one right now is probably a blue Gourami that has moved to 3 different cities with me, but is still probably not even 5 years old. 14 years is really impressive in my book!!!!

Beautiful pictures, Pandora! I'm sad to admit that I don't do water changes nearly enough with my freshwater, so I KNOW I wouldn't have the time to devote to a marine tank. But, one day "when the kids get older" and such, I definitely will get one. Gorgeous!
