I just heard Crown of Thorns on the radio!(PJ Live version)
That's the first time I've ever heard it on the radio..have I just been missing it? Haha
Actually, I've notice a lot more PJ music on the radio in the past year.

I love it when you hear great songs in unexpected places. I remember Chris Cornell's Sunshower came on in a quiet village pub I was in once, of all the random songs........

then when I was on holiday in Canada the first song I heard in the hotel bar was TOTD's Call Me a Dog, followed by AIC, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam etc, my friends couldn't quite get why I was so excited!

Yeah I hard it on the way to the post office and freaked out and turned the volume up! Stayed in my warm car until it was over I think it was the Vancouver Crown of Thorns too..not sure since I missed the very beginning, but I was SUPER excited to hear it!!

A station in Houston went through a phase of playing I Got Shit regularly, and it's not even a rock station. It's a mix station. I haven't heard them play it in a while though.

Most stations here do the typical Black, Alive, Even Flow, Daughter, Better Man, Yellow Ledbetter only rotation, although 94.5 in Houston did play I Am Mine the other day.

Anyway, back to not-so-typical stuff - not a radio story, but still pretty cool - we were drinking and playing darts at a pub called Richmond Arms in Houston recently and a pretty long stretch of Temple of the Dog and not-so-typical Pearl Jam songs played. I finally noticed that a guy in his 50s or so, drinking alone and dressed in a full suit, was standing at the juke box selecting all these songs. Kind of sad, kind of awesome.

It's always awesome randomly hearing those songs at a pub/bar. A lot of jukebox's I've seen don't usually have PJ in it You would think being in Seattle it would be in every Jukebox! But I should look some more next time, I would definitely throw in some dollars and play that at the pub!

I heard Crown of Thorns on KISW! And The End has been playing a lot more PJ and so has that new station 98.9 The Click.
My CD player in my car is broken so I sit in there listening to the radio too..I always go through each of my key station to see if PJ is on..haha!

There's nothing sad about that at all. My fiance and friends are always making jokes about how much money I spend to play PJ songs on the jukebox when we are out at bars. I do it all the time...

Anyone else get like too extremely excited when you're in public and PJ comes on (and you weren't the one playing it)? I know I tend to stop whatever conversation is going on, get all excited, and notify everyone what they're listening to :oops:

No, no...the song choice was awesome. The possibly sad part (and mind you, i'm totally kidding around) was the guy in a suit, drinking alone at a pub on a Tuesday night. He was actually a really cool guy. A friend of mine struck up a conversation with him. And he clearly has amazing musical taste.

Yes - at the bar in the above story I made sure to tell everyone with me that PJ and Temple of the Dog were on. No one cared, but it made my night.

Haha...well at least no one will give us shit for playing PJ at our little PJ party at Alive One!

I also get very excited whenever I hear PJ and I'm not the one playing it....

ok, so it's not a bar/pub 'exactly' but the 5 Point hasn't changed their jukebox in forever...has MLB, PJ, soundgarden....and also garth brooks, and I think spice girls. It's like they filled it in the 90s and just left it. If i walk in and hear country I go over and play a bunch of STP/PJ/MLB etc.

This has happened to me twice recently. In Dec. a guy played Hard Sun by Ed and I sought him out to let him know he made a nice choice and then these two young kids played Black. This past NYE some guy started playing TOTD on the Jukebox and he started talking about how he just "loves that shit". I get overly excited as well

I have one friend in my group who loooves PJ just as much as me and we play TOTD, PJ, AIC, etc. all the time in bars (luckily we only go to ones that have those Super Search touch tone machines). We get a really warm reception from the bartenders and guys at all these places. Our other friends are getting pretty sick of it as well. But I really don't give a fuck.

Our hard rock station, has been playing quite a bit of TOTD stuff and then Soundgarden (assuming it's because of the new CD) and our mix station has been playing Crazy Mary which I love. PJ gets some play on the alternative station as well. Not complaining.

Oh I get super excited too...I almost screamed with joy when I heard Hunger Strike during the 'We Bought a Zoo' movie!! I think my friends are getting sick of it too.. every time they come over, I have to show them my mini PJ collection!!

ok, so it's not a bar/pub 'exactly' but the 5 Point hasn't changed their jukebox in forever...has MLB, PJ, soundgarden....and also garth brooks, and I think spice girls. I've heard of the 5point cafe! I've never been there though, I need to branch out some more while living here in Seattle!

Exactly! I dont' have a huge collection, but whenever I get something new or someone new come to the house, the first thing I show them is my PJ stuff. I know everyone that lives in my house is SICK of PJ, but they will just have to live with it or find a new place. Too harsh? I don't think so.
