Anybody else a fan? Finally got into this last week, had a marathon of the first season thanks to Netflix, and just have to watch episode 3 of this season before the fourth episode airs on Sunday :)

It makes me think of the shows my mom and I would love watching together, like the old Sherlock Holmes series with Jeremy Brett, Poirot, all those cool mystery shows. She had a soft spot for period pieces like this, so besides the fact I enjoy it, makes me feel a little close to her too :)

i loved it... yet nothing much happened in it... i also wanted to make sex dance with the fiesty daughter on it... her name escapes me? Sybil! thats her... she looked dirtier than a pig's porno collection.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Sybil is very pretty, moreso than Mary who is pretty much a grade A twit!

Pretty good show. Watched all of season 1 and the first episode of Season 2.

Sybil is the most attractive of the lot. I enjoy the time period of the show and the look it gives you into the lives of royalty and the servants which catered to their every need.

Yeah it's done beautifully, lovely sets and costumes. It looks really lush. I wish I had a maid lol

    What channel is it on?

I've seen a few threads mentioning it and am curious?

I'll have to find it on Netflix. I'll need a new show when I finish the episodes of Pierrot that are left. I've been watching all the episodes of Pierrot lately.

The week my mom was visiting we watched about 15 episodes together, and I've been gradually working my way through the rest of them in the evenings since she went home. :)

I was surprised how much I liked it - we got a screener and I sat down to watch with my husband and he sneered and said, "I don't have to watch this, do I?" and the next thing we knew, we were both hooked.

I read somewhere there's a drinking game whenever Maggie Smith says something smartass you're supposed to take a drink. You can get pretty drunk.

Okay, that was one of the funniest things ever. Jennifer Saunders is always so amazing, but Joanna Lumley as "Mrs. Danvers" made me laugh out loud.

    Haven't watched part two yet.

Joanna Lumley is always great. Jennifer's bit is the funniest for me because now, every time Maggie Smith gives one of her disapproving looks in the show, it reminds me of Jennifer's impression of her..
I also liked when they referred to Edith as "daughter no. 2"..

So i'm halfway through season 2 and i'm not enjoying season 2 as much as i did season 1.

It seems some of the plot devices are just being reused.Still good and somtimes really good but i'm not as intruiged as i was. I also think the writing is a little hokey at points more so in season 2. Maybe it will finish strong and i'll change my opinion.

Great. It comes out here in the states on Jan 6
I finished season 2 last night I have not watched the christmas episode. I'll wait a couple weeks to watcht that to help me get in a christmas mood.

I have some complaints about the writers. They seemed to write their way out of things. I guess i don't watn to spoil anything but a certain person dying of the flu was pretty convienant.

I did not like the Grandma at first but she is probably my fav now. She does more acting with a raise of an eyebrow and a hmmmmmm than some people do with 5 minutes on screen. She gets some fantastic lines.

So it was pretty cool last night. I was a little disapointed with the two hour premier that we did not get a big wedding feast scene afterwards. I thought the party would have been great fun to see.

Thomas continues to be a scumbag.

I wonder if bates will spend all of season 3 in prison?
