Am I the only one here who seems to get an awful lot of PMs from conservatives/libertarians/religious people of various persuasions who start out with a "I just want to reach out to you" or "hear me out" or "I want you to understand where I'm coming from" and then when you blow big gaping holes in their bizarre arguments, they get all angry and tell you that you're stupid and have no soul and they're putting you on ignore and will refuse to read any more messages from you and basically throw a temper tantrum like the one most kids throw when they find out there isn't a Santa Claus?

Or does that happen to you all? :?: :?

it happens to you all right?

unfortunately there are still way too many people that are bothered by homosexuality...given that the average pearl jam fan is in their early 30's, this is sad

I think it's more my extreme angry liberal warrior vegan thing.

Yeah, I agree. For what ever reason, I only get PMs from people who like me.

I don't get any PM's from AMT people. It could be that you're the most accessible, openly gay person they have contact with.

I like that the average fan's age is in the 30's (at least it seems that way). At PJ 20 nearly everyone I met was around 30 and into the band <10 years. It shows they're still relevant.

I very rarely receive pm's from 'The Enemy'. 8-)

    I probably scare them.

    Nope.
What usually happens to me when I get a nasty PM from a stupid fucking numbnut whose opinion I really don't give a flying fuck about... I just tell them I don't give a flying fuck about opinions from stupid fucking numbnuts I don't give a flying fuck about.
Then, I delete their next reply without opening it.

I just wish there was a way to let them know that I just delete their unread replies... like a 'Return To Sender' response.

Look at it this way Prince, that's why I hang around here-- to makes guys like you look younger... and it gives people like me the opportunity to pretend we are younger.

I was just trying to tell you that your ways are evil because a 2,000 year old book about an invisible man in the clouds says so.

    Geez. Just trying to help.

I don't usually visit here...I don't care to get into heated debates about whatever political stance someone wants to twist up into a bunch of poppycock.

I got one PM from a thread that should have gone here...it was long winded, gave me about 20 links, personal experiences...and the person was ON MY SIDE.

The most interesting part? They had signed up the same day they sent me the PM...

I replied and it's still sitting in my 'outbox'...3 months later. They haven't come back to the board since. The internet is full of freaks.

That's creepy, why in the world people who only knows you through what you write in the board would want to change you?

I love it when I receive a pm and their 'incoming' is turned off... can't reply :?
its like being at the end of a prank phone call

    whats up with that?

I get wonderful pms... kind and loving
and have learned to ignore those I know are abrasive ...
who needs that on top of all the crap in life?

I don't normally initiate pms cause I'm shy and feel like I would be intruding maybe.

I think you can be a really funny poster ... that positive side of you,
we chuckle that is good for everyone

Ever think that these people are secretly gay and come to you for advice for how, as conservatives/libs/religious, they can make a move on a secret admirer? I mean, it's not like it's completely unlikely that they may have gay tendencies!

It's all in jest, guys, so don't get upset by my post. Just a thought.
