Well, Obama certainly has made terrific use of his covert ops. He has been a true leader in this regard. A million times better than the guy before him.

Killing Bin Laden did exactly what to change the world as opposed to hundreds of Arab protests in most major cities where millions were protesting for freedom and Democracy?

Bin Laden lost his relevancy a long time ago and his death changed nothing. We are still in Afghanistan right? Millions of muslim Arabs don't give a shit about Bin Laden, they are more interested in mass uprising to get rid of dictators. Recent events are testament to that. So the old man is dead and good riddance. There's a lot more important things going on in the world than talking about a man who had become irrelevant being killed in Pakistan.

Nice work by the Seals in the OP link. Good to see they were rescued safely.

  • osama bin laden did not lose relevency a long time ago. he was held up as the boogieman that justified everything from the patriot act to the wars in iraq and afghanistan. because he influenced american foreign policy for over a decade and continues to do so he was completely relevent until his death and still remains relevent.

Well it's a good thing i'm not just talking about how Americans view Bin Laden then isn't it? Oh and for the record the only thing that continues to influence American Foreign Policy is the voting Public. They will continue to elect a President who will support the War.

    Bin Ladens death changed nothing.

You can have peace immediately by surrender
  • You can have peace immediately by surrender

And we can stay and keep adding to the 6,000 names already listed below. And we can continue to ignore the cost to the Afghanistan civillians and their families who are killed.

    Heros, volunteer ones.

God bless them. They are not just "names".

    No shame

    You ignore the families?

Comprehension is not your strong point is it.

These are not just names, they are someones loved ones. I'd prefer not to see the list rise. How about you? Are you prepared to sacrafice more lives? For What? What's changed since Bin Ladens execution, afterall that is what we were originally talking about right...Truth is nothing has changed.

I support Ron Paul. He will as POTUS bring the troops home.

Officially known as the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, SEAL Team 6 is today the most celebrated of the U.S. military’s special mission units. But hidden behind the heroic narratives is a darker, more troubling story of “revenge ops,” unjustified killings, mutilations, and other atrocities — a pattern of criminal violence that emerged soon after the Afghan war began and was tolerated and covered up by the command’s leadership.

reading through some of that link you put up, jc29856. some of that stuff doesn't have to be done: mutilating bodies, video recording the dying & getting a kick out of it then & later with others. all of that horseshit aside, i love navy seals. there will always be sick twisted bullshit with war. yes these guys are nuttier than a fruitcake. some are just nasty people, they are everywhere, in all walks of life. there are many goodhearted warriors out there... no question about it, evil has to be stopped. i'm glad seals (& other badasses) are around doing their tasks.
