100,000 tousled strands of hair
61 duets with the sky
39 cigarettes,
and one holy fuck

later

the threads I’ve unstitched
are all seamless,
and I seem less
certain
they were ever the way, for

this

seamstress,
who sits,
blowing smoke rings
to watch them break apart
like arms,

or

eyelids,
when words aren’t enough

to fall into.
Pepper- I am faith without religion, without bruised knees and pleas for forgiveness...
