Thanks in advance for personal suggestions needed.

Last night my wife gave birth to our stillborn child. Not looking for sympathy or trying to be a debbie downer. I just wanted other members advice on Pearl Jam songs that would be appropriate for an infant funeral. I've got a few in mind, but would like feedback from other members who may have better ones.

Thanks,

djayjohnso

Sorry for your loss friend - best wishes to you, your wife, and your entire family. I am not sure if it is the perfect song lyrically - nor musically (a little fast) - but SAD has some great lines in it that apply for sure....

    My deepest sympathy,
    Martin

  • I am sorry for your loss.
  • Much love and peace to you, your wife and your family.
Seen this post before, maybe some of the same recommendations would work.

My thoughts to you and your loved ones.

I always thought Just Breathe would be a good funeral song....

  • I'm so sorry. I hope you can both heal enough to try again.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. My first daughter was stillborn late in pregnancy, and it was a long road that followed.
A number of songs stuck with me during that time, once I could bear to listen to music at all. "Indifference" is one that seemed to make a strong impact on my healing--the lyrics both seemed to explain the pain but also offer some strength.
Again, I'm so sorry to hear about your child.

I am so sorry for your loss. I've lost many friends and family members, but I can't imagine what you and your wife must be going through right now. My thoughts are with you.

I once dedicated Come Back to a friend who passed away, the lyrics are sad but comforting.

  • I think Just Breathe would be a beautiful song. Hugs to you and your wife. The funeral will help give you peace and closure and a way to say goodbye.
  • so sorry for your loss. no one should have to go through that.

all of these suggestions are great; maybe look at Eddie's stuff on the Into the Wild soundtrack. Particularly Rise and Hard Sun...

keeping you guys in my prayers.

  • I am very sorry for your loss. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Last year my son's best friend passed away, and I remember Light Years was such a comfort to me. May PJ's music be a comfort to you during this time. Blessings to all of you.

  • I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you found a song which suited beautifully.
Most likely you will find relative meaning in many PJ songs in the future.
Maybe you can find just one that reminds you of the joy this precious little life gave you and your wife in the time you had.
