it seems to me ben johnson is a little too enamored with going for it on 4th down. he got away with his fourth down failures against the packers but not yesterday. I lost track of how many points he pissed away in these two games.

OK….i just looked…bears/johnson are 5 for 12 over the last two weeks….I would guess he passed up maybe 5(?) FG’s.
I'm with you. I agree with it in those mid-field punting situations, but not grabbing the 3 points is pretty dumb. I think the coaches are still in 10-20 years ago with all the crazy high scoring games. The league has shifted a little back to defense and 3 points has become more valuable.

I don’t mind it in the regular season but I think most times in the playoffs you need to take the points.  Points are a premium in the playoffs and every point you score puts more pressure on the other team.

I complained about this recently and a friend told me I was missing the Modern NFL

If so, the modern NFL is stupid.

Denvers backup hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL SINCE 2023!?!?

    Is that correct?
remember Matt Flynn? he replaced wroggers in GB for one game….threw for 480 yards and 6 TD’s…..then signed a big deal with seattle, never to be heard from again.

it’s doubtful that will happen with stidham but there’s plenty of instances of “some dude” having an out of nowhere game.

He may have certain strengths & tendencies that NE isn't ready for - you don't know how it's gonna go. It's not like Maye set the world on fire yesterday.

New Washington stadium will have one of those glass ceilings. Such a stupid trend. It's so much fun watching those bad weather games.

I was working at Dick's Drive-In when the Seahawks signed Flynn. The hype was crazy. Flynnsanity. That was the year Seahawks debuted their new jerseys, and Flynn was the first player Jersey available. I remember working the night that the jerseys were released and some dude came to the window with that Flynn jersey. I still think about that dude from time to time and laugh at how things shook out.

Agree.  Also, listening to how loud the Seahawks stadium is, if I were building a stadium I would push like hell to have a way to keep in some of the sound.
49ers built, and then remodeled, and Levi's is just a soulless corporate dump 40 miles of the actual city
Sure. They get World Cup, Super Bowl, Wrestlemania, concerts, whatever, but it is supposed to be a home field tor football.
Niners fans are just as loud when they play at Rams.

    It is dumb.

Keep it feeling like football and domes only where a necessity.

The Pats will know his strengths & tendencies. He was drafted here in 2019, spent 2 years here when Josh McDaniels was OC, then traded in a pick swap in 2022 to the Raiders after McDaniels was hired as HC.
McDaniels has coached him for 3 of his 6 seasons, has the full book on Stidham.
    This weekend we rock Portland

Man, I couldn’t agree more. A buddy was texting yesterday that all big games should be in domes. I HATE domes…georgia dome, superdome, etc. weather won’t be a factor in the CFP but at least it’s outside.

I haven’t been to Levi’s but “soulless corporate dump” has always been my feeling. Remember the Stick! (a dump with soul!)
