RIP JoePA
After going to the PSU game and seeing PJ for the first time in 1991......
I guess somethings always come to an end...
At least Pearl Jam is still rolling

It's been quite a stunned day and past few months...for all the good over shadowed by bad

It is a very sad day! He will be missed very much, he did a lot for the school. Going back to PSU in a couple of days for a concert, I hope the media wont be all over the campus like they were in November. Also hope PJ come back to Penn State for a show this year!
Camden NJ night 1 6/19/2008 (one of the best days of my life!)

Music is the engine to my Imagination and Pearl Jam is the fuel for that engine.

RIP JOEPA...A giant loss for the PSU community and college football.
  • It's definitely sad to hear about anyone dying but knowing he covered up child abuse for almost 10 years takes the sting out of it...

well said.... covering it up is just as bad in my book.
  • There are no winners in this story...The bottom line, IMO, is that Paterno helped protect/cover for a child molester. It is a shame but his legacy should be tarnished and he has no one to blame but himself.

And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

wait, what does joepa have to do with pearl jam?
  • Joe Paterno was an amazing human being. As a Penn State alum and die hard fan, I am very saddened about everything that went down and this is how his story ended. He may have had cancer, but that man died of a broken heart.

Seems like he could have changed how his story ended if he followed through and made sure the authorities were notified.

He covered up the molestation and abuse of who knows how many children! That's all I need to know. Ask the victims and their parents how tarnished his "legacy" should or should not be.

Or at least asked his son(who is a lawyer) what to do.
