Running the Charity Volunteer Gauntlet

Anyone else noticed our city streets littered with these vultures?
I walked 1.5 miles along a city centre main street yesterday,I was approached "enthusiastically" by 8 different bright young things trying to bleed my heart into signing up for the charity logo branded on their clothes,I find this as offensive as if it was the Nike tick thing.
I watched a documentary some time ago about this phenomena.I discovered they are not affiliated with the charity but they are paid well to advertise and sell the charities, they are paid between £20 and £40 an hour.
They are mostly journalism, media and business students and they will happily whore their wares to any charity that approaches, one week or even the next day accost unsuspecting people for one charity and with a quick change of logo vest they are affiliated with another.
How do you deal with their sales pitch?
