bike spokes cleaning (kits)

anyone ever clean their bike's spokes? got any ideas? wax? some sorts polish or balm?
i am thinking of using this product here
badger - aromatic chest rub eucalyptus & mint 0.75 oz.

    when I was a kid, I was riding my bike and my shoelace got stuck in pedal, I reached down to fix and the handle of my tennis racquet got stuck in the spokes of the wheel which stopped the bike so forcefully I flew over the handlebars
