Nirvana Nevermind 4LP Deluxe Set

I've been thinking about purchasing this set as I still need to add this album to the vinyl collection.

I've been reading up on it and am seeing quite a few disappointing reviews from the audiophiles. I'm personally excited about the extras but am wondering if the sound of the actual recording has been compromised to the point that I am better off purchasing the original pressing or the 2009 reissue.

Do any of you own this? have heard it? are able to make a comparison on quality to its previous releases? Just looking for some help making an informed decision to get the best quality out of a vinyl purchase.

    I have the 4LP set and enjoy it. I didn't notice anything wrong with the sound but I also wasn't trying to hear anything wrong. My biggest complaint is that the packaging isn't the greatest and should've been a little sturdier.

    If you want the best sound get the ORG reissues they all sound great.

    Anyone else out there have an opportunity to crank this loud and hear the crummy distortion i've been reading about?

    I just ordered one on Amazon today. Wasn't planning on getting it but it's only $51 :D So i thought why not?

    What are your thoughts on the remastered album?
    Like/Dislike? Prefer the original?
    Sounds very punchy and crisp to me.

    Bumping a rather old thread here but I've realised I must get Nevermind on vinyl after watching the Sound City movie last night. My local store can order in the 4LP re-issue for me but what I'm wondering is, does it come with mp3 downloads? Tbh I doubt I'll listen to the extra records much after a 1st couple of spins but I would love to have them on my phone, so, can anyone help?
