    They certainly did. Megaupload should not have been taken down. There are paying customers that use the site and many of them use it for legal purposes.

    There have been talks going around of people switching to the deep web to get around the issue of sites going down.

    just read some articles about the "deep web", one from gizmodo was pretty interesting. would love to read more from people that have downloaded TOR and cruised around down there.

    I have Tor but I do not use it. The deep web has a lot of creepy shit and very illegal stuff going on. I would stay away from it.

    It was brought up in several 4Chan threads today.

    What's the deep web? Yesterday a friend of mine posted the story of Filesonic disabling their services due to legal fears. I began thinking of alternative ways users could share and distrubute content. Maybe files could be shared by some sort of networking? One possible solution mentioned by my friend was file transfer protocol;

    "you can use ftp to share you hd with whoever you chose. all you need are fxp clients so you can set up server and client stuff. its the oldest file sharing method in the book and still going strong right now"

    One point I added was that as long as I don't breach copyright or create any revenue, I'm not doing anything illegal.

    Unfortunately I am by no means advanced in computing :lol: :oops:
