Cool. One of them said they are voice powered, so that's good..but would you think this is more of an aid, or a distraction?

Oh, and this is what I want:

I wonder if the car alerts you of the 5 year old kid you just ran over while fucking around with a hologram on your windshield?

    Regarding car technology:
Good for informational data such as speed, RPM, fuel data and other heads up information to keep the driver's eyes on the road, not on the instrument panel.
NOT GOOD for your asshole Facebook 'friend' that has to constantly tell you where he is checking in and what he is ordering from the menu to pop up on your windshield when you are trying to navigate your way up the 405 in a Spring rain storm at night... no one really gives a fuck.
    ...
As so holograms... I'm old school... I like the fact that the orangish hued pictures I have from 1975 look like they were taken on an Instamatic camera in 1975. It brings me back the time and place the photo was snapped. (and I don't need electricity to review them)

ohhh man Cosmo I'm old school myself but if you think about how far technology as advanced in the last 100 years and just keeps moving forward everyday you have to wonder what's next ?...heck with the car windshield it's going way past that..but I do agree that the windshield deal is dangerous and not a good idea.

I read a few years back about a pilot program somewhere in the states where they built a road with censors that allowed a car to sense where it was on the road and steer to stay between the lines. That combined with front and rear censors for other cars would allow cars to drive themselves. Would be a liiiittle pricey to retrofit all the highways, but damn I hope they pull this off someday so I can drink and (not) drive.;)
I also remember (think it was BMW) working on technology that would be somewhat similar to these holograms on the windshield, but as a safety feature; it would highlight objects on a dark road for you - like if there was a deer on the road up ahead, it would be illuminated on your windshield. That I could go for. But some dude telling you he's on his way to the bar? Just stupid.....there will be laws against it before it's plausible to implement the technology.
