Ansel Adams was a very talented and insightful man. He mentored a friend of mine and helped him on his path. My friend had always admired Adams so, when he got his 'credentials' in photography, he sought Adams out. Knocked on his door, was invited in and that was the start of a fantastic story for my friend.

Wonderful man.
Wow, how lucky your friend was to have someone of his caliber be his mentor!!
I really love that letter my sis is a HUGE fan of his, she's a photographer, and when we went to Yosemite a couple months back, she went bananas at his studio!
We went in October, were so fortunate as the weather was absolutely perfect, felt like spring but with barely any other visitors! The waterfalls were in full force too. Took my dad, first time he had been. It was very healing for all of us.
There are some nice views in that park! Almost hard to screw up pictures.
on top of upper yosemite falls ... one of the best views in the park is actually in the river right below "swinging" bridge ... especially later in the day ...
