this video here is the badass rock band deep purple with the london symphony orchestra doing purple's perfect strangers
not my favorite version of this song either. none the less it is ridiculously insane out of control, wild and incredible

    Spiritualized and Sigur Ros work with Orchestras a lot,don't know if they are symphony but no matter the sound is incredible

    Symphony, Philharmonic,Chamber Orchestras but the variant is how many groups of instruments and musicians are in each kind of Orchestra.Symphony has four instrument groups ... I think :?

    Lollapalooza 2007 - My Morning Jacket performed their set with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra. That was pretty badass.

    I watched a dvd at Rob's (imalive) house of Collective Soul performing with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra... Some good performances on that.

    chad, as far as your confusion as to what is what, I believe it is something like this: An orchestra is an instrument ensemble, and a symphony is a musical composition, typically for an orchestra.

    My parents took me to see the Moody Blues in 1996. They had the entire Houston Symphony Orchestra playing with them. It was an awesome show.

    Saw Moody Blues again in 2005 without the orchestra, but still a great show.

    Only experience I have had with seeing an orchestra live.

    Moody Blues- hall of fame disc is good

    Collective soul- Home had a few good tracks (bought a few on Itunes.

    My Uncle had S&M by Metallica and it was pretty decent. I don't own it though.
