What's interesting is how PJ played only a handful of shows with reasonable ticket prices, and still had made that much in money and ticket sales. Compare it to how some of the top tours did, and just imagine what the guys could do with a full scale tour. I know that won't happen, but just imagine...

Eddie Vedder took home 275k for each show? and its not about the money?

Don't hate the player, hate the game. PJ tried to fight that battle and it didn't go so well. Couple that with the fact that bands make next to nothing on album sales these days and they need to generate money from touring. I happily paid to see him and would pay again tomorrow.

Eddie could have done a TON more shows. And we wish he would...

That's the average gross ticket sales per show; not all Eddie's money. They have to pay for production, crew, venue rent/expenses, catering, etc out of that money. Granted, he probably still makes $200k per gig.

i think this chart shows that the ticket pricing is reasonable ... they should add in average length of show in there too ...

but there will always be those who gripe ...

In september I paid roughly $150 too see 2 Peal Jam shows in Toronto and saw 56 total songs. I paid $215 too see Tom Petty this coming June and he will play around 18 songs, there is now way PJ shows should be considered expensive.

Does anyone actually know what percentage of a nights total gross actually goes too the band?

or also what pearl jam pay their staff relative to other acts ... and the fact they donate $2 a show to a local cause ... and that they carbon offset all their shows ...

I highly doubt it's even that high... my guess is it's nearer $100k than $200k.

    Interesting list, thanks for posting.

What does William Morris Endeavor Entertainment do? Are they the concert promoter?

Not sure but William Morris is an agency. Could be a shoot off of the parent co.

yea, but you have to figure that playing the theatres that he plays, the expenses cant be all that high...perhaps 200k is a bit high but I bet it's closer to 2 than 1. He gets a guarantee for each show and it's the promoter's risk whether they cover the artist's fee and expenses and actually make some money.

William Morris is one of the largest agencies out there; they are a talent representation agency. They represent everyone from musicians to movie stars, to authors.

Yeah, I know who they are. I'm just curious what their relationship is to PJ. I expected to see Kelly Curtis's name in that spot. If they are being represented by William Morris this would be the first I have heard of it.

EDIT: I see from re-reading my own question I was not particularly clear about what I was asking. Sorry.
