Questions about Posters

Hi, after collecting all the Pearl Jam albums on Vinyl (bar benny hall) last year, i have turned my attention to posters. Ive bought about 12 in the last two weeks.

When searching, the poster descriptions usually include, 1st, A/P or variant. What do these mean? Which is usually the cheapest to buy?

Also, does anyone have a london 07 & manchester 09 poster which they are willing to part with?

    1st means first edition, or the show print.

    A/P means Artist Proof, which usually means its signed and numbered by the artist from the first batch made.

    Variant means its a limited edition variation of the show print, usually with one ink swapped out.

    I'm too lazy to show photos of variants, but check out expressobeans.com if you want to get into posters. Great place and a tremendous resource.

    1st - show run - usually many printed - what you'd buy at the concert.
    AP - Artist proof - usually signed and numbered - low run - typically x/100.
    Variant - Something special about the poster - glow in the dark or on foil or different colors - typically signed and perhaps numbered - very low runs - maybe x/20 or x/25.

    1st edition is usually the larger run, sold at shows, here by the 10c, etc. The A/P are those sold by the artist themselves, and are usually signed and numbered by them. The variants are usually small runs of the same prints, but done in different colors, or on differnt paper, and are usually signed and numbered too. Generally the 1st editions will be the cheapest, then the A/P's, and then the variants.

    I have an 09 manchester that is signed and number by brad- face value $60 + shipping.

    Expressobeans is a great site. You'll find those 2 posters on there as well and maybe some people selling them.

    I recently bought London '07, great poster. I passed on the Manchester '09 poster at the gig, didn't like it but that was before I started collecting posters!
