under the blue sky mine, what a dream world we are living in ^^~ Enjoy The Struggle0 -
It seems to me that 99% the world's population wants the same thing: peace, the ability to live a comfortable, happy life. The problem is the 1%: the narcissistic government elite, the predatory business institutions, the religious fanatics.
If we could all find some way to circumvent the authority of those in charge, then world peace is attainable.
If we continue to act like stagnant, lazy, selfish sheep, easily manipulated by demagogues and con men, easily distracted by materialism and brainless mainstream culture, then we are doomed.0 -

i think the point of world peace is that ALL countries are peaceful with each other and their own people. If you're looking at just a single region, how about most of the native americans? Sure, there were some tribes that were violent, but most were not. Especially when you look at the folks who lived in the Caribbean for THOUSANDS of years before Columbus showed up to make 'em slaves. For THOUSANDS of years those dudes were just smoking grass, riding in canoes, sitting in hammocks, and having orgies. But, at the same time, most of the western europe and the middle east was fucked because of all the slavery and religion wars, so there wasn't world peace.
That's why I said "True, it's only one country but if this is true, maybe we can learn from it." I'm not saying peace in one country for x number of years= world peace. I'm saying that if one country did experience an extended period of peace maybe we could learn from it. I don't think you're intentionally trying to derail my post, he still stands, but I don't believe you addressed my question.
So I repeat my question: Does any one here recall hearing this or know anything about an extended period of peace in Japan and can we learn anything from that?"It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0 -

I would like to think world peace is attainable somehow, but I think we should start small.
Like working on U.S. peace... Or China peace...
Since Denmark is deemed the happiest country in the world, we could start by looking to see what they do...0 -
