**** PRAGUE 10C MEET UP PARTY  - SATURDAY 30TH JUNE ***

Right, here we go again. Most of you have been here on that hot summer early July weekend 2012 and plenty of you came over to this place during your non-tour travels to Prague. We wont change anything, Malostranska Beseda (http://www.malostranska-beseda.cz/en/pub/about/about-pub.html) will be the area for all the gatherings once the the touring crew arrives to Prague .Located just 5 min walk from the Charles Bridge, serving the best beer in Prague, local czech food and as added bonus they gonna screen the football world cup matches as well.

Rock the Kafka!

currency - Czech Koruna (CZK / Kč) - 25.60 per Euro, 21.70 per USD, 16.80 per CAD

Exchange office:
best exchange office with best rates is to be found just few meters from the Old Town Square at the Franz Kafka museum - http://www.exchange.cz/contact.php . - (Náměstí Franze Kafky 2 - Prague 1).

Arriving by plane:
Airport - 30 mins by bus number 119 which takes you to metro station Nádraží Veleslavín on the Green A Line. (32 CZK) No need to take those infamous taxis...

PRAGUE - KRAKOW - BERLIN - (PRAGUE) BUS

Arriving / leaving by train:
Hlavni Nadraží - Central station - metro Red C line
Nadrazi Holesovice - metro Red C line

Prague is pretty much safe (obviously same as other big city when respecting all the rules). Staying close to the O2 arena doesnt make much sense:
1) the location isnt great - its in the middle of bit of a industrialized district of Prague
2) there is metro station Českomoravska straight at the O2 arena which takes you to the center within 15 minutes or so
3) metro operates till midnight - so we all will board it after the gig and head center for the after-show party
4) as any other major city in Europe you could find variety of international hotel chains various price range, hostels etc...

Best beer in Prague:
Beer and food is affortable (yeah, lets avoid the cheap word "cheap" ok? ) - between 1-2 euros for Pilsner Urquell, food around 6 euros.

Pub Lokal - serving best beer in the world - straight from the "tank" - a big reservoir - nonpasteurized - fresh. Serving traditional czech food only. The owner admited that despite he runs several other restaurants, luxury types, Lokal easily beats them in profit ...

Oh, and its 5 min walk to metro station - Namesti Republiky - straight on the yellow B line which takes you to the O2 venue in 15 minutes (thk its 5 stops to station Ceskomoravska)

Kolkovna group - http://www.kolkovna.cz/index.php?langua ... 3&show=hot - good beer, good food.

Pub u Hrocha - if you wanna experience good old (well think one of the oldest pubs in Prague) with nothing just beer, very smoky inside - surely check this one out - Praha 1. Thunovská 10 - just next to the British embassy ... oh, the beer is just .... aaaawwww, especially after crossing Charles bridge in hot summer afternoon....

Or just let it all flow - walk the streets of the old town, cross the river Vltava through the old Charles Bridge and head up towards the castle Hradčany to take the magnificent view of Prague....

    I hope that i get tickets this time both to Prague and Berlin in stockholm i only got one standing and one seated so i need more standing!! (more standing to the people!!!) :twisted:

    between 1-2 euro for pilsner urquell? *drool* now that is a price - quality ratio I like.

    too bad I'm not doing the whole road trip by car, or I could stock up there for scandinavia. :lol:

    Also it is probably the most beautiful city in Europe. I was there in 94 in a club in a old church & Even Flow came it went crazy. Good luck getting tickets wished i was there!

    Any suggestions for specific hotels to stay in, besides the Four Seasons?
    It is better to stay in the center, right? I am assuming it is relatively easy to get to the venue, but my main concern is that I don't speak any Czech, so Is it easy to get by with English, French or Spanish? (I can also throw in a very very very little Russian)

    Regarding places to stay you can really choose whatever price category you want .... There are all those hotel chains like in any other major city in Europe... You surely want to stay in the center, thats correct. Friend of mine runs http://www.travellers.cz/en/dlouha-pens ... prague.php , superbly located next to that good pub... and we are thinking of placing the aftershow party just nextdoors .... :D (see page one for updates)

    Not to worry with any languague issues ... english is fine, german would do as well and half of the population once studied russian as well so you might throw in few words .... :)

    But that is the better way.

    I will drive to Prague with a friend (his first PJ concert) and drive home directly after the concert.
