Ok, the next dilemma, I take it from mt reading, if I choose a FLAC file I am not able to download it to my ipod?. It just stays on my pc. Can you burn the file onto a disc? Or should I sacrafice some quality so i can upload it too my ipod? :?:

Of course you can burn a flac file on a cd! The easiest way is to chose a burn program that supports FLAC. For example CD Burner XP (it´s free).
Or you download FLAC Frontend. This will convert FLAC to WAV.

I dont know about IPODS, but I believe that losless files can be played.

    Here is what I do:
Buy Flac files. Then you always have the original source.

Make backup copy of Flac files.

Burn Flac files to Audio CDs using the already mentioned "Flac friendly program" of your choice. (I use Media Monkey)

Put that CD in computer and import using iTunes just like you would a normal store-bought CD. You then have the iTunes friendly mp3/aac files to put in your iPod.

Not sure if that is the best way, but that is how I do it. Enjoy! :)
