Jon Lord for the BBC Proms - please sign the petition

I am sure I am not the only Deep Purple fan here.
I have set up a petition to get Jon Lord as a featured artist at the 2012 BBC Proms. If you are not familiar with this annual event, the BBC Proms is the world’s most prestigious classical music festival and is shown on TV around the world.
I believe that he is worthy of inclusion not only because of his great talent but also because he has successfully combined rock and classical music, opening up his work to a wider audience.
I do hope that you will sign it. It only takes a minute – really! And it is safe. You can be anonymous if you choose. I am after 5000 signatures and have over 2800 to date.

More than that, I hope you will tell all your friends. You never know who might be interested or who might want to pass it on to their friends. You can tell them easily and quickly through links from the petition site to Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Reddit and email.
The programme for 2012 may be decided because the BBC will have to plan a long way in advance to make this happen. But that does not stop them adding an extra event or looking at 2013. I am keeping all options open.
Jon deserves this.
