I love the beach... in the Winter, when there are few people... the sky is grey and the song of the green surf. I especially love the Winter sunsets over the Pacific, when the setting Sun lights up the bottoms of the clouds, turning them pink and orange and red and purple. I love the sunrises over the desert, where certain colors only seem to exist. I love the calm silence of a still Sierra lake, the whispering trees from the cool breeze. I love Mozart symphonies, Pearl Jam concerts and Louis Armstrong recordings. I love petting an old dog, playing with a shoelace and a kitten and driving at night with all of the windows down and the heater on full blast. I love the faces of the people I love. I love the smell of fresh pumpkin pie and homemade cookies (who doesn't?). I love my country, even with her many, many faults that I believe she/we can overcome. I love campfires surrounded by friends with guitars and beer under the canopy of a trillion stars. I love the feel of walking barefoot through the mud, the rain on my face and those soft curves of a woman. I guess most of all... I love living... because i know I will eventually lose it... and everything that comes along with it.

The thing I like most about time is that it's not real. It's all in the head. Sure, it's a useful trick to use if you want to meet someone at a specific place in the universe and have tea or coffee- but that's all it is- a trick. There is no such thing as the past. It exists only in the memory. There is no such thing as the future. It exists only in our imagination. If our watches were truly accurate, the only thing they would ever say is "Now". That's what time it is. It's "Now". - Damien Echols

That feeling never fades...my son is 19 and my heart is so happy when I hear him laughing. There is something so comforting about hearing your child laugh no matter what age.
