I'm gonna be blunt. I've never heard or even cared to hear any of her music. But seriously, the best? yea OK, maybe she's the best singer to look like a rock.

  • Rock? Uh i don't think so.

That's funny considering there was a big feud between Aretha and Tina Turner not too long ago over who was the "real" queen. Tina said she's the queen of rock and Aretha's the queen of soul but clearly, Aretha doesn't think there's room enough for two queens.

    I watch too much tmz.

Yeah, so I actually read the article in the link, and I think it's pretty clear they are NOT calling her a "rock singer".

greatest singer in rock era = greatest singer in all music during this period of time when rock & roll began.

    Duh.

Well if thats the case, then that's an incredibly misleading title.

  • Without a doubt her voice is incredible, but Rock? I guess it was considered that back in the day, but I believe Tina Turner is the queen of rock....and I agree with SOLAT, the list is kinda :S, I mean John Lennon? He's a freakin musical genius, but as a singer he was good enough but not SUPERB....And Robert Plant at No.15?! Now that's an outrage!!!

Best rock singer, it's a toss up between Elvis, Freddy and Plant!

  • OMFG, you're right!! He's not even on that list!!! Now that's a travesty!!!!!
