If I can make this happen I would fly to Chicago...get extremley drunk and tossed around a bit. Rent a car and drive to Vegas (I always wanted to see that part of the country from a car not a plane)...watch Eddie twice, get extremely drunk and tossed around a bit and then drive to Phoenix (gorgeous drive especially over the Hoover Dam). Hit Phoenix...watch Eddie...get extremely drunk and maybe tossed around a bit and then fly home to Smalbany with some stories and maybe some new job leads. 8-)

That's the greatest thing I've ever heard...

The only thing really holding me up is the huge delay between the Chicago party and the EV Eddie dates. I spent 7 days in Vegas last year alone and I know this is cliche', but I don't think I can do it again without supervision  . If I can find something to do in between Chicago and Vegas might work. Wonder if Denver has anything interesting to offer?

how much vacation time do you have.

not sure how much time you have spent in chicago...but you could easily kill a few days here...

I hear you - I love Vegas intensely but was there for 9 days last March...bad idea! There's tons to do in Chicago, you could easily stay here for a couple days to a week and not get bored. I'm sure there's lots of really awesome places to stop on the way too...take the lesser traveled roads and really see what's out there!

if you wanted to include baseball in your trip...

you could hit up cubs opening day on april 5th...shoot up to milwaukee for their opening day on april 6th...than catch a game in arlington and houston texas before heading to vegas....or skip tx and hit up colorado for a game.

    just a thought.

depedning on schedules, you might be able to catch a blackhawks game at the UC as well....on april 1st.

Geez...maybe our paths did cross at some point. I spent the last week of March in Vegas last year...was that when you were there? I remember buying EV solo tickets for Providence and Hartford totally blitzed in my hotel room!:lol:

Texas is a little out of the way but a very good suggestion, plus I really wanted to see Colorado and Utah. This is going to take some planning and I hate planning. Saw Milwaukee and liked the city a lot actually. Damn you 81.

 I was there from the end of Feb through the beginning of March...the first few days were for work but I still had quality gaming time at night! I usually go there about twice a year though, so it's possible that our paths have crossed at some point!

as luck would have it.....the rockies game on the 9th is an afternoon game. game should be over by 4 local time and it's about a 12 hour drive to vegas from denver. very doable. plus...it's also the rockies home opener....so you could hit 3 home openers...how cool would that be.

9 days in Vegas?!?!? And you're still alive??? I can barely handle 3 nights in Vegas. I couldn't imagine being there for any longer than that.

Three days is the perfect amount. 2 is too short and four leads to problems and issues.

Well the first 5 days I was at a convention so didn't really get to leave the convention hall at all. 9 days of pure Vegas would kill me!

    thanks man! sure does suck.

i'd rather not leave the complex i am in now, but the landlord is raising my rent $400 a month :o:o

damn you chicago and your no rent control laws. in nyc, they legally can't raise your rent more than like 5% annually. chicago.... not so much.

Which, in NYC, would be about $400.

Damn! That is brutal. What area are you living in now where they are raising the rent $400? My lease is coming up at the end of July so I'll be on the apartment hunt soon too. I hate moving.

right now i am currently in the loop. when i moved out here from new york 14 months ago, the building i moved into was brand new, so they were offering really good deals just to fill the building. and now they are sky rocketing everyone's rent up to "market value" which doesn't make sense because all of the apartments in my immediate area aren't charging nearly as much as they want. isn't that your market value?

so i found a place a mile from where i am. i think it's considered river north.

That sucks. Nice that you found a place close to where you're at now. River North is great....lots of good bars/restaurants.

totally like the river north area. i work in the loop and don't have a car, so i have to live somewhere where i can walk or take the CTA.
