Tedeschi & Trucks Band

Saw them last night and they absolutely tore the fucking roof off the place! Such a tight band. 11 band members who each work their asses off and get an opportunity to shine throughout the set (2 guitarists-T&T, bass, 2 drummers, 3 horns, 2 backup vocals, & keys). I highly suggest seeing them if they play anywhere near you. The show was easily top 3 of the year for me. And the opener, The Lee Boys were also very, very good. Their slide guitarist played out of his mind. Go see this band!

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

He plays more like a sax player than a guitarist sometimes. He approaches his solos like a sax player. In one interview he said that he went a long time just listening to horn players, no guitarists. I got into Coltrane because of Derek. Coltrane is one of his biggest influences and the DTB has covered Coltrane's Naima, Mr. PC, and plays My Favorite Things, Afro Blue, and Greensleeves in the Coltrane style.

His live version of My Favourite Things is one of the best things I've ever witnessed. There was a few at the show around me who clearly hadn't heard it before, was amazing watching their reactions when they realised what it was. I do hope he will tour with his band again. Though another TTB album would be amazing, I'd imagine both he and Susan will have much they want to work on.

Caught them for the 5th time last night; they opened for the Black Crowes. Every time I see them I am more and more impressed. New album coming out in a few weeks and it's one I just can't wait for. Derek is such an amazing musician, and Susan has the most beautiful voice. Throw in an entire horn section, and an additional handful of super-tight musicians all on the same stage.. I love them! Anybody else catch them on this tour?
