"Lost" David Bowie footage from '73 found

I'm a Bowie fan, but I wouldn't expect one performance that was thought to be lost and now being found would be THAT big of a deal, but it apparently is. After all you can find all kinds of old Bowie footage on YouTube or whatever, but apparently this was a popular one that was considered lost. It is pretty good, a '73 performance of Jean Genie on Top Of The Pops. The video is in the story and will also be aired during a BBC Christmas special.

    I just heard this too, pretty exciting! I thought I had seen just about everything. I knew of the taping, but I didn't know it was lost either.

    I saw Bowie in concert in 1983. I was checking a ticket broker web site for a current tour. I typed in David Bowie and they gave me results for David Hassellhoff in concert. What a bummer !

    nice find, pity there is only half the video, i will have to wait to get it from a youtube boot, I don't have access to bbc from here... big bowie fan as well...

    Here is the complete performance on YouTube. I didn't know the one in the story was incomplete, I only watched about a minute of it or so and got distracted. An announcer talks over the intro of this one, but it's the whole thing.
