The crash has been happening for a lot of high demand shows for years. Maybe not to the extent as Alpine and Europe..but it's been there.

  • Yes, I believe it did. I only tried for St. Louis tickets & successfully checked out in less than 5 mins. But, back in 08 I was shut out for EV in LA & then PJ at MSG. I did end up seeing all the shows I wanted to attend.....either with help of friends & a presale code from an LA radio station for the EV solo date. I think it all depends on which shows you are trying for.
I wish I were the verb "to trust" and never let you down
  • The system was slow for EV solo, but didn't crash. iirc they staggered the pre-sales for the shows.

For the oakland show this year I had tickets "removed" from my card after reloading for a while because the checkout process wouldn't complete..same thing that happened to the europeans this year.

The Vedder April Fools '08 tour was a nightmare. A NIGHTMARE!!! Heart-attack city. All show's went on sale the same moment. It was a complete disaster. But I was able to score Santa Barbara & Los Angeles 1. Tried for Los Angeles 2 but wasn't fast enough. D'oh!

And remember, these were Vedder tickets. Not Pearl Jam tickets. A typical Vedder show @ a small theater with a small amount of 10club tickets compared to a Pearl Jam show where the band is playing in a 15,000 plus arena, much much more 10club tickets.

The East Coast Vedder tour of '08 was not as bad. Scored both Montreal nights & Toronto nights piece of cake.

    ..

I had this hope, well wish. That this winter, Ed would tour solo here in Canada. From West Coast to the East Coast. Play some tunes from his latest works from Ukulele Songs. He had already toured USA & Australia for the new record, but not Canada. Many of us thought he would tour solo in Europe (maybe down the road?). But it would a sweet Christmas gift if Ed did make it up here to the great white north and play a few show's. Especially here in Atlantic Canada.

getting 4 out of 5 shows is a nightmare?

    4 of 5?

I tried for 3 show's on the '08 April Fools tour. All show's went on sale the same moment in time. I was lucky to get 2 of those show's. BIG TIME! It sure was a complete nightmare.

2 Montreal & 2 Toronto Ed show's for his East Coast '08 tour were easy to score. They had 2 city 10club tickets go up every hour. So much better planned & less stressful then having all the show's go up at once.

I don't know why they did that. All show's up at once. For the Canadian '11 tour, we were able to stagger the times the 10club tickets went up for sale. It was insane. Again, not sure why they put up 6? Euro show's up all at once few day's back. Couldn't they do it every hour or so?

Thanks.. My memory plays tricks on me so when all this talk of "sabotage" emerged my immediate reaction was
"this has been an ongoing occurrence since the EV solo tour of 2011.. How can you not see this as internal to the organization"
If I remember correctly , the switch to using ticketmaster with an assigned ten club code took ten seconds to process!
Is someone sabotaging it from THE INSIDE or are they just over their heads??

    You decide...

Would TM be above flooding PJ's website and ticketing servers to try and get them to cross over to the dark side? "See look how easy our process is!" I thought it was absurd when i read the sabotage answer but hey ya never know.
  • do you think ticketmaster actually cares that much about the 10C?
I don't mean to offend anyone, a lot of what I say should be taken with a grain of salt... that said for most of you I'm a stranger on a computer on the other side of the world, don't give me that sort of power!

I don't think he meant inside ticketmaster.

Sounds to me like he's asking if you believe the saboteur is inside the 10c or if they are just over their heads running this place.

do you think ticketmaster actually cares that much about the 10C?

Ticketmaster cares about having every opportunity to make every dollar off every transaction in every arena they have rights to. If they didn't care, then they'd release 10,000 fan club tix to 10C to sell at MSG, which 10C would have no problem selling. But TM doesn't do that, they want as many tix in their own hands as possible.

I'm not saying I believe that to be the scenario, that they'd try to muss up PJ's ticket selling experience so they could say "let us handle it, see even your fans think we do a better job", but I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility either.
