    If you're offended by Ed's occasional swearing, do NOT go see the Foo Fighters. I brought my 8 year old to the TD Bank Garden last Nov to see them. Great show...but I had to tell Brandon not to repeat anything he heard from Dave's mouth. I just pray my wife never hears the bootleg I have hidden in the car :lol:

    When I was in college my best-friend and I made a 'mix tape' with as many lines as possible of Ed dropping the F bomb. It was quite the sound collage. That is, until my mother confiscated it, never be seen again. :lol:

    OP: Thought about your thread last nite. Was on the way home from baseball practice w/ m 8YO and he's in the back of the car and PJ Radio playing on XM/Sirius. I tune in midway thru Man of the Hour and, when the song ends and Eddie begins addressing the crown, turn down the volume to avoid potential F-bombs. During a break in conversation b/t me and my son a low yet audible Eddie-originated F-bomb comes over the cars' speakers. Miles, my son, asks "Hey, Dad, why did he just say that?.....I heard him...... but I'm not going to spell it." I tell him that's a really bad word and one we don't need to say. Him: "I bet the crowd was like, 'I can't believe he just said that. I'm never going to bring my child to his concert'." Me, smiling covertly: "That's just the way some people choose to express themselves." At this point, I'm searching for some solid ground on which to stand. He goes on, "I mean, I can't believe he'd say something like that in front of all those people." Ahhh.....the innocence of a child.

    IMHO it's Ed's prerogative to swear all he wants. I vaguely recall when Ten first dropped and I was an angry and confused youngster how good it was to sing along "What the fuck is this world, coming to....". I get it....expletives can be well timed and feel quite cathartic to their owner/author. There is some responsibility as the owner, however, to think about on whose ears they fall. My dilemma as a parent is that I want badly to expose my kids to Pearl Jam's music (already have on many levels) via the live experience, and I've got to responsibly choose when is the appropriate time to expose them to a particular concert experience and everything that comes with it. I live in the south and at this rate, say they play here in 2013, then the next pit stop will be in 2023 and my 8YO will be a 19YO. PJ32 baby :lol: !!! That live exposure, for the kids at least, may come later than sooner. Perhaps we'll be taking a family Pearl Jam-related vacation one of these years ;) .
