Anyone have cortisone for nerve pain?

    I was just talking with my dentist last night. He's got a bad hip that needs replacing. When it first got to be really painful he was given a cortisone shot that worked miracles for a few months but when the pain returned, it returned with a vengeance. When my mother was alive and working she was a lab technologist and told me to avoid cortisone. I wish she were still around to tell me why.
