Pearl Jam 9/10/98 MSG NY City

September 10, 1998, New York, New York; Madison Square Garden
Opening: Ben Harper
Set List: Long Road, Corduroy, Brain of J, Last Exit, Given To Fly, Animal, Dissident, Jeremy, Daughter/(Mother by John Lennon), Even Flow, In Hiding, I Got Shit, Better Man, Do The Evolution, All Those Yesterdays, Alive; 1st Encore: Wishlist, Rearviewmirror, Hail Hail, Black, Small Town, Fuckin' Up; 2nd Encore: Soldier of Love by Arthur Alexander (1962)
This post is a throwback to a long time ago, the first time I saw the band live, and this board and the ones before it.
Some notes of this day, The Breath campaign was in it's second day, the day after, the people got their wishes granted and the song was performed.
Along with seeing them for the first time ever in MSG, this was also their first time as a band playing the most famous arena in the world, as Ed and Mike had performed at the Bob Dylan tribute only.
I think I shall go looking in my room to find me this boot and listen to it this evening, and remember the sounds and memories of long ago.
If anyone else was there, join me if you wish, and do the same.

"the waiting drove me mad..."
The night before or two nights before was at the Meadownloands in Jersey on Sept 8th. I missed that one was planning on going, but my friend could not go, so when the tickets went on-sale, I passed on them, and tried like crazy to get 9/10, was successful at that, and when they added the second night, I got some of the worse seats in the house for one of their most famous shows of all time.

"I play good, hard-nosed basketball.
Things happen in the game. Nothing you
can do. I don't go and say,
"I'm gonna beat this guy up."
you saw greatness and history that night then.
do yourself a favor and find that boot, it has to be somewhere online to download.

Just finishing listening to the first half of it, and you get great versions of Long Road to start the show a kick ass really kick ass version of Last Exit, then later on excellent renditions of In Hiding and I Got Shit, both early in their lives.
Oh and All Those Yesterdays which even at that time came from nowhere.
Jason
