  • Yes it does. You can't call it a hack job and then not give an answer about something like this.

So... one line inconclusive response in 27 hours or so?
... and the will to show I will always be better than before.
  • I'm sure our card details are fine. Ten Club didn't pretend-up a story about them.

I was wondering about this too. Not too scared, as I used a prepaid cc and all the money on there is now gone anyway, but I'd like to know if I can still safely recharge it.

Their publicist. They are saying their systems were sabotaged...the fans deserve to know whether their info is safe. since 10c won't respond we should go up the chain.

I hope so but that "sabatoge" saying has me a little worried now. Why was our message board slow when tickets were going on sale on another website? If that site was hacked, connected to our 10club account, then the 10club site was hacked too. Which means our information was taken. D'oh! I just changed my credit card months back during the whole PlayStation Network hack. Now gotta change it again, but this time before Christmas? If you freeze your credit card now, a new credit card shipped by mail won't arrive till after Christmas (well only if you pay for expedite shipping or something). D'oh!!

If any of this was true, they would have had to notify us so we could contact our banks. To not do so would be totally negligent. I don't buy any of this. Emails and phone calls with CS were being made for the past 24 hours by various members and no mention of any sabotage was ever made. Surely there'd be a duty to report it to the customers as soon as possible.

I agree. Because they have not, and probably will not, say anything about our personal information being compromised that leads me to believe that the whole "sabotage" thing is crap.

  • i am not sure how someone "flooding the site to crash it" would automatically make your cc info unsafe. they did not say hacked, they said sabotaged. most 13 year old kids could design something that could do that.

maybe step off the jump to conclusions mat.
  • If the servers really were sabotaged (which I still kind of doubt) it was probably sabotaged in the DOS way (Denial of Service) that crashes websites, not the way that takes your credit card numbers.
  • I still think.. though I'm not a computer expert (at all!)...that the amount of people buying those tickets at the same time was like read by the system as DOS attack...despite the message of DO NOT REFRESH THE PAGE blablabla.. most people kept pressing f5 (habit!) .. I did!.. and it almost worked for me.. I had the tickets in my cart 2 twice, and it was not because I was patiently waiting for the system to automatically direct me back to the purchase page but because I kept hitting that key like crazy! .... so it means it was too much traffic, and the system couldn't handle it.. but having data exposed is something that not necessarly would cause the system to slow down or crash like that... this is the way I see it...

Exactly, the only sabotage happened here is the amount of PJ fans hitting F5 trying to score tickets turning this into a DoS attack. It's not like Pearl Jam is a target for 'Anonymous' or any other group.

Your/Crowdsurge servers failed again... Admit it...

I think the real question here is the 10 Club sharing our information with a third party site without our permission. I didn't login to the crowdsurge website; from the email announcing the presale, it looks like they already had our addresses waiting for us? I might be a tad paranoid here, but I don't like them sharing my information with crowdsurge without my permission, especially since I had no plans of buying tickets for the Europe tour.

I guess people were heading here for information/updates when the Crowdsurge site, erm, surged.

  • I didn't try for these tickets ( bit disappointed there are no London shows) but I'm worried at their use of the word 'sabotage' - it's such a strong thing to say, don't they realise that they are scaring people so they had better have a strong valid reason for this.

I also agree about the permissions - did it say in our terms and conditions that we give them permission to share our details with a third party, ESP credit card details? I don't think I gave permission for this.

I'm concerned about the security of the Crowd Surge site. On one occasion, when I tried logging on to Crowd Surge, I entered the wrong password, and I got a message to that effect, but it still allowed me in to view my account. :?

The legal disclaimer on this site says they do not share personal details with any other company. Not sure about US data law, but in the UK you would have to obtain explicit consent to do so.

From the disclaimer: - it's here:
Confidentiality, Sharing of Information, and Disclosure of Practices
    Use of registration form information

The Ten Club's registration form requires users to give us Registration Contact Information ("Registration Contact Information" includes but is not limited to user name and e-mail address) and Demographic Information ("Demographic Information" includes but is not limited to user zip code). We use Registration Contact Information from the registration form to send the user information about the Ten Club. The Registration Contact Information is also used to contact the user when necessary. The Ten Club does not share any personally identifiable information with other companies.

The Ten Club may send mailings to its members in the following ways:

    * The Ten Club Newsletter/Magazine is distributed bi-yearly via mail to current members.
    * The Ten Club holiday vinyl single is distributed yearly via mail to current members
    * Special email mailings are sent out sporadically. These mailing may include renewal reminders, announcements, news, events, and updates.

Oooh hang on. That says we get TWO editions of Deep a year! When did that last happen?

And as for people being able to log in with the incorrect password, this just gets worse and worse.
  • Just got a reply about the cc details from :

We can assure you that there is no security risk.  Had this been the case we would have taken immediate action

I don't think they shared our credit card details with crowdsurge. I would hope that the people who are worried in this thread about their credit card details had to enter their credit card numbers when they went to buy tickets on crowdsurge.

I just don't like the 10 Club creating an account with my email address and my home address on a third party website. I did not give them authorization to do so, I had no intention to buy tickets for this Euro tour, so they should not have done so.
