I would rather have Mohegan sun than bridgeport. Let's keep the shows in the central part of the state.

The '08 show definitely made up for the fact the '06 show suffered because of the cold weather that particular evening. Having said that, I'm a fan of any show in Hartford in general after seeing the last 3 shows there. I enjoyed the Dodge Music Center when it was warm out for the '08 show, and enjoyed the XL Center for the fact it was an older arena with a great vibe. Here's hoping for another Hartford show in the not too distant future.

not sure what this rent place is... but if it's a friday or saturday... they might be able to fill it

otherwise it wouldn't happen... when they played meadows were there lawn seats available publicly?
  • EASILY the dodge. i can't believe all the opposite responses. the tailgate is crazy and so much fucking fun. i just love that place. 08 was insane

Very good place to tailgate 8-) .

If I'm heading back to NYC, & it's raining it's the XL.

Rentschler Field, where UConn plays their home football games. It would definitely have to be a weekend gig to fill it up.

No Mohegan. Tickets would be more expensive and that's such a long drive. I agree, keep the shows in Hartford.

  • Hard to choose. Depends on the weather, certainly. But then again, if your 10c does it really matter if its raining? You'll have a covered seat for sure.

I like Dodge b/c I like to tailgate. BYOB = cheap fun. Parking can suck if you park 2 miles away though (but I usually spring for the VIP parking to get nice and close to the door, so I can party till show time.

XL Center. I have a new found love for this place after last year. Such a great show. At first I was upset when they announced the 2010 show at the XL... I personally like the outdoor atmosphere and the sound of the amphitheater. But PJ proved that they can bring that sound and atmosphere indoors... My only problem here, is that Im short...and unless I win the lottery, im on the floor and cant see shit. (Didnt see a damn thing last year, but somehow, that didnt take away from the experience - won the lotto in Boston the next show to make up for it though - 8th row center, had a nice clear view of Mr. Vedder all night long 8-) )

Mohegan would be nice, just b/c of how close it is to me, but brews are ridiculously over priced and no way your smokin a dube in that venue.

My vote for PJ CT 2012 =
One night at each venue. XL Center one night, Dodge the next. Hopefully the weather corresponds with the chosen dates...but either way, have you ever not had fun at a PJ show b/c of a little rain? Don't need a raincoat, Im already wet 8-)

Never been to the Meadows but really enjoyed the Civic Center in 2010. The connected hotel, right off the highway, plenty of bars blasting PJ close by...it was great. Only problem was trying to get pizza delivered to the hotel after the show. It took hours.

This is really a great and interesting question, and there are + and - for both venues. There is history with the Meadows shows vs. the band loving the Civic Center. And I love how the 'which show is better' debate always creeps in these types of questions...

Can't see the band coming to the 'Port. Can't see them playing Mohegan. A return to Springfield would be a stretch, and I doubt it'll ever happen again.

The Rent is an interesting thought...pretty sure they could pull it off with the help of the Boston and NY crowds, however the actual sound there very echoey and isn't that great (saw Stones and Bruce there). It sits in a neighborhood and they would certainly have to deal with a curfew.

I guess I'd go with the Meadows. Only because of the unpredictability of the crowd. The band has always had to earn their money in Hartford, and they've delivered every time.

    Again, great question...
I love to turn you on

Looks like The Rent is out of the question. Doesn't the Meadows also have a curfew with it being outdoors?

  • I dont think the meadows has a curfew on the weekends, but i could be wrong. its in the city, not near a very residential area, unlike The Comcast/Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA.

They can break curfew anywhere....for a price.
What was it, $1,000.00 per minute to go over curfew on 7/11/03 in Mansfield?

I heard GnR didnt even start their set in Mansfield, MA this year till midnight. Can't imagine how much they paid for that! Im guessing the show went till almost 3am
