Also Ear cropping. These practices are Unrestricted on dogs in the US (according to wiki ) and most of Canada, banned (for cosmetic purposes) in many other countries.

I never knew about this practice until a few day's ago...For example a Doberman Pinscher with pointed ears and a short tail had that 'shaped/worked on' at one point in it's life.

(The Vet in the above video asks "Torture, or Not?", and say's he does it because people want him to and likens it to a baby being circumcised, fair?)

A few states are looking to ban these practices.

Anyone here support or have done any of these things to your own dog?

I'm against these practices, especially the ones that are for cosmetic purposes only. (Of course, I'm also not in support of circumcision in developed countries.) I can understand why people get their cats declawed, but I still think it's wrong. I asked a vet once why he does it any he said it's better than the alternative, which is that some cats would get abused or abandoned when their owners get infuriated about them scratching things. (As someone who's going to have to have my house re-carpeted before I can sell it due to scratching cats, I can understand people's frustration.) Of course, I had a cat who started peeing on everything after he got declawed, and that was even more infuriating to the owners, who consequently got rid of him.
