The Tool website is so useless. They never even got around to adding 10,000 Days to the albums list. They could have such a cool website if they wanted to but I guess they are "against that".
When my friend called to tell me they were touring I went to toolshed.down.net first and there was nothing there, then I went to Google and searched "Tool tour 2012" and found nothing. Then I remembered they also have an official site so I checked that too, but of course no information.

I follow the Fourtheye RSS feed and that's the only way I ever know about Tool or APC news.
I love TOOL but I don't follow them as far as news goes. Do they have any new material or is this just another handful of shows where there playing the same stuff they've been playing for the last 4 years? I saw them when they were initially touring 10,000 days but skipped them last time and was told it was basically the exact same show. Just wondering if this is yet again, the same old or if there will be anything new.

No new material so probably the same set as the 10,000 Days tour. Maybe they'll switch up a couple songs but that's probably about it.

If you go to setlist.fm, you can see their most recent setlists. This tour is anyone's guess, though.

Was tempted to buy tix, but decided to pass on them. 3 days after my b- day too $90 a little too much for me, plus not a huge fan of the sbc. :(.

I wouldnt get your hopes up it will likely be this.
and then they will add in a few different songs - in 3 shows I saw between 06-10 the songs rotated in were - 3rd Eye, Patient, Opiate, Right in Two, Flood, Intolerence, Wings for Marie 1 and 2
In other words you will likely get a few new songs you didnt see, and then a "hits" show. Basically the only reason I went in 2010 was because I knew they were playing 3rd Eye and Patient and those are 2 of my favorite tool songs. The only way I will likely go see them again is if it's supporting a new album or they have added one or two of 4 Degrees, H., Eulogy, Slow Push it, Parabola, Hush, etc

I love Tool, a lot, they are very near the top of my list, but it does suck that they don't switch things up too much anymore. But still, I seen them 3 times on the 10,000 Days tour and I had a blast at each show, especially the last one because I scored pit seats and was only like 3 rows from the stage. But knowing that's how they are I couldn't justify a 4 hour trip to get there to see the same show again with what my funds look like right now.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll probably pass again. Especially if there's nothing new. Also by the sounds of it, there will be lots of other shows to buy tickets for in 2012
what if they drop a new album right before the show dates...or right after?
then maybe there would be some new material in the sets?
Tool is pretty notorious for not letting out any info before shit actually happens.
Ive only seen them once, unfortunately...kicking myself for missing the Aenema tour.
Mansfield, MA 2007 - I vowed I would never again miss another Tool show in my area. I will be at Mohegan Sun for sure. New material or not...Ive got lost time to make up for, and who knows how many more Tool tours there will be in the future.
Good luck everyone in your quest for tickets! More on sale tomorrow.

I already know Mohegan is going to sell out in like 5 seconds. Half of their tix go to tribal members and high rollers (which is why PJ should never play there )
Edit. Asked and answered. About 2hrs. Which is what I'll be driving to Boston if i cant get tix at Mohegan Sun.
