At the shopping centre aka mall close to my place there is a fashion store that is selling grunge style clothing, on the mannequin is a tshirt with Kurt's image and a flannelette styled shirt over it.
Ridiculous.

  • You're mad they are selling clothing that has been around before "grunge" (ya know, that stuff on Eddie's teeth)?

Did I just go through a time warp? This seems like a 15-20 year old story...
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

If the style timeline goes something like this...

Beat era: Black turtle neck, shades, French beret
Folk era: Jeans, blue faded work shirt, tweed jacket
Surf: light blue pegged corduroy pants, horizontally striped shirts, baggies (swim suit).
College Hippie: Wide whale cords, paisley or bleeding madras shirt, flowered everything
    True Hippie: (see grunge)
Punk: Black pegged pants, ripped t-shirt, black leather jacket, metal accoutrements
New Wave: Polite punk, red and black garments, angular patterns
Grunge: shorts over long johns, flannel shirt, work boots or tennies
Hip Hop: ghetto fabulous, Pro Keds, baggy pants and skinny low jeans

...then I have ask, what's next (or did I miss something)?

The check shirt has been around here for a while - I must go rip a pair of jeans and get a random tshirt to match my DM's :D I'm waiting on it to come back fully as we've had 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's - it's the most logical progression!

Actually at the beginning of this fall, I was perusing in a look book for fall fashion at a high end dept. store and it said "GRUNGE" and had "work" boots, plaid, etc. I continued looking no farther and threw that shit out after getting a pretty good laugh from it.
