HUGE thanks to desertman!

I wanna say a great big thank you to desertman for hooking me up with 4 tickets to the Athens show on September 30th. It takes a very trusting person to take the word of someone you've never met on the forum, but he trusted me to pay the money back as soon as i get it, which i will do.

Pearl Jam fans really are the best, i don't know how to express my appreciation for this. He's a very generous guy and deserves major props from everyone here.

    That's fantastic! :D I'm so glad he was able to do that for you. Can't wait to meet everyone in Athens. Now we have to plan.

    Out of the four of us going, no one has ever been to Athens. So everything is going to be new to us!

    Really!? I'm sure you'll love it, especially if you like to be surrounded by ancient history and friendly people. It can be noisy and smoggy (it sits in bowl, surrounded by hills) but it's still awesome. Obviously we'll all be relying on people like desertman, who lives there, to help organize a meet, but if I can help with any questions, I will.
    I've been there 3 times with my hubby (he's half Greek, half Irish). We don't usually spend too much time in Athens when we're in Greece, usually visit with his parents then go to the Islands. Do you know when you'll be arriving? How long you'll be staying? We'll be in Greece most of Sept. but haven't decided when we'll head back to Athens, depends on what plans get made here. Can't wait!

    At the moment, we're just thinking of coming the day before, on the 29th, and staying until the day after, on Octobrt 1st. We haven't booked hotels or flights yet, so if you know of any cheap places to stay that'd be great!

    OOOh, that's it? Oh well. I know there are a couple of places down town and the guidebooks mention a few places in Plaka as cheap but nice. I think it would be cool to find out what the Greeks are doing with the olympic athelete accomadations, maybe they rent them out cheap?? It'd be close to the venue...
