Yeah, it was a pretty big deal in the media. Then a few months after that, another man in Toronto did the same thing. Weird part was, his story was barely a footnote.
It's unfortunate there are so many parasites living amongst us.
I won't give the name of the charity but I was recently disclosed some financial documents (yes legally and she willingly gave them) of a mid management professional of a very prominent Nationwide non-profit charity and she was making close to 250k annually. This charity is VERY well known. It really made me wonder what her higher ups were pulling in and actually what percentage of their "donations" were actually going towards their intended purpose. Unfortunatley I think the big charities have turned into nothing but a business now.
Terrible when people do stuff like this. Not only is it dishonest thievery...it also lessens the chances of those who are really in need getting help. People who have been victimized by people like this are less likely to help others for fear of being ripped off again. And these days, there are a LOT of people in legitimate need.

recently in a burb, there was a woman who oversaw the medical expenses donation account for a friend of hers who was dying of terminal cancer. THAT one got found out for stealing from the account.
How heartbreaking. It wasnt enough that this woman was dying , living under the false belief that a chunk of the med bills would get taken care of. Only to find out her best friend was stealing a cushion from her family.
On second thought, all of these posts belong in the RF thread!!
