Ok... so i'm probably going to look like a complete idiot, but i NEVER knew or heard this before....

This reminds me of taking my friend to his first show.. towards the end of rearviewmirror, he was yelling "soy beans!!! soy beans!!! soy beans!!! soy beans!! clever!! clever!! once you, where in my REARVIEWMIRROR!!!

Interesting....and now I'll be listening to Alive for the next few days....alot... Could it just be her interpretation? She says "a" look instead of "the" look & "from" you know where instead of "oh" you know where....ahhh, the mysteries of Eddie Vedder language....love it!!!

You can hear the 't' of hurt right before he flicks to "I'm"

He almost said this in the VH1 Storytellers description of the song. Kind of like that's all well and good BUT I'm still alive.

Haha...for the longest time, I thought he said "Sun feels.....sun feels....clearer!" Kind of makes sense if you didn't know the real lyrics. To be fair, Eddie's singing does sound kind of muffled in that song, and mixes up the first chorus with the second chorus often.

I have an old bootleg from an early show where Eddie is really making it clear what Alive is all about.

Parts of Alive go like this:

"Is something wrong she said?
Ofcourse there is..you stupid bitch"

"Oh the look..the look...oh you know where..
between her f#cking legs..I just stare"!

And then in end he screams at the end: "Why the harm?! yeah, the harm...stop the harm....yeah oh uh uh...yeah yeah yeah".

Hearing that made a very big impression me. On the album recordings he is not really singing it like that though, but live he did once. Guess we'll never know! :roll:
I have no idea what show it was, I have it on cassette tape SOMEWHERE...I will try to find out which one it was.

But yeah... I hurt, I'm still alive...mmm...interesting!

For the new jammers here... Daughter and Rearviewmorror are connected. In the end of Daughter "the shades go down"...but in the end, at the end of Rearviewmirror things feel better, and "the shades are raised". Always found that great to know after reading that in an interview with Ed.

Absolutely loved that by the way! Got me thinking, it's about time and it would have been nice for the 20 year to have one of those tribute albums made.

I have been loving the one that Spin did for Nevermind's 20th and I think it would be awesome to have one of those made for our guys.

For sure there is a distinction...sometimes before "I'm still Alive.." I hear oh & other times it very much sounds like "ohhh, I huuuurt, I'm still Alive...." I kind of like that....I know my heart hurts when someone does me wrong.

I know somewhere, an interview maybe??...Ed has said how the song started out with the narrator questioning why he was still alive but the fans & audiences changed that for him. Meaning, "ya? do what you will but, fuck you man, I'M STILL ALIVE!!!"
