Hi folks. I have already posted on the highlighted topic on this thread since it was posted but thought it would be good to follow it up today to keep you updated in my involvement and spread the word further.

Like many people here I was very moved by Stephen's post and after some thought decided to contact the members posting replies and a few others to see if we can spread a little love his way. I did this by taking donations through my Paypal account to very good success so far it must be said. All those (you know who you are) who have taken part in his sale, made donations directly or through me or most importantly passed on words of comfort, condolence, care and wisdom can't be thanked enough for the morale boost it is giving him right now.

It's always good to see the spirit of this amazing community where people pull together in aid and assistance of someone at the bottom of their luck. I can't get into all the details here as Stephen's business is private but if you are moved by his post then you'd be surprised at how little he has revealed about his plight which isn't just the 3 years he states but going back so far that it was painful to read the PM he sent me last night. I have experienced some rough times with the bereavement of friends and loved ones in my time and I still feel like I've had it easy in comparison. This young man has suffered grief and loss that would break many and his finances have also suffered during this time which brought us to this point. He is by no means a charity but is so overawed by your responses that he has humbly accepted the help he has received on every level.

I am transferring the donations to his Paypal account today and passing on the messages attached to them. There has been great generosity shown here for Stephen as has been shown to others in the past and again I thank everyone for whatever donations or kind words they have given him. After I send him the donations which so far have been sent to me at Paypal account, veddertown@aol.co.uk I will watch for any more that come in over the next few days and transfer any to his Paypal which he has allowed me to post. iplaydrumsalot@hotmail.com

Anyone still wishing to donate can send to him directly now and it all helps. He is very busy replying to all your PM's and is making every effort to eventually respond to you all so give him time and he will come through. The words mean so much to him so keep them coming! Thanks people, you are all amazing here and it goes beyond anything I have seen anywhere. Happy holidays and I hope you all and Stephen have a great Christmas and New Year.

Best wishes.

The Veddertowns (Gary & Lorna)

It's gestures like this that make me, a newcomer, realise that 10c is much, much more than just a fan club, it truly is a community, and one that I'm extremely proud to be a member of.

As I wrote you Veddertown, this is an amazing initiative on your part too.
And yes this shows this is more than a mere fanclub, it is a tightknitted community, even for us not so very forum active members.
I just hope Stephen comes out of it on the other side a strong(er) person and I shall tip my hat for him, I have never met him, probably never will, but as stated; will tip my hat for him.
I wish I had more to write on the matter, but all I can say and do has been said and done.
Have fun, walk hard and stay alive.

That's awesome to hear, Steve! You could try emailing the sender's email address. Or you could ask everyone that has sent you anything to pm you here so you connect with them directly. Hope this helps!

Yes, you should be able to just reply to the email you get that says "xyz@abc.com sent you a payment". Don't feel like you have to respond to everyone right away. I know you want to and you will get to it, but definitely don't feel badly if it takes you awhile, ok? Don't think any of us are going anywhere soon :D
