no PJ20 vinyl. wtf?
Sorry PJ, but you guys really dropped the ball on the PJ 20 vinyls. They were on sale for like a day and now one week later they are all over ebay for at least 200 bucks a piece. I was happy with the re-release of vs and vitalogy but its seems like they didnt print many vinyls at all for PJ 20. Let's let them know that they need to re-release this one as well so that the real fans dont end up spending 200 for something that should be under 50 dollars. Come on guys.

Would it really be hard to make one per member, put it on sale and say "limit one per active member"? Give people a month to buy their one, and if they pass, then autograph the others and put them up for a charity auction.
in that case, you need to make everything pre order...give people a month, then send the total ordered amount to the printer...win/win
10C gets cash up front
10c maxes sales
members can only blame themselves when they miss out on something
only the collectors that want rare stuff lose out
on the flip side...the random sales are half the fun...
fyi...you can still pre order from best buy and fye
It was a "limited edition", not one for every 10c member. I'm truly sorry you missed out on the Vinyl. I've missed out on many items as well, but i do not blame the Band or 10c.
And yes i was lucky enough to get one.
I got one as well, but I think the band is creating a situation where items are so limited people are flipping them or just keeping them for trade bait. Almost every item lately has been very limited, creating a huge demand on the secondary market and forcing fans to miss out. I know of people that don't even want items that go on sale but buy them anyway because they can profit off of it or trade it for something they want. This isn't the way it should be..and it wouldn't have to be if PJ made enough products for everyone who wanted them.
They are encouraging flipping by making the items needlessly limited in the first place.
They're also really crappy businesspeople by stopping people from giving them money as well.
It is also released under Vinyl Films since this compilation belongs to a film whose royalties belong to Vinyl Films
And it is released under Sony Music as well because they are the manufacturers and distributors...
10C had a specific quatity of copies for the 10C members interested in buying this item from the Ten Club.
But the market is larger than 10C members, and many webstores started taking preorders over a month before this was available on the 10C. There are many people interested in having this item, not only fans, but retailers as well.
I preordered mine on October 25th from Diskopoiis.gr, most people here order form Soundstagedirect, Amazon.com, Amanzon.ca or Amazon.co.uk. Many 10C members got theirs from local retailers in their hometown, and you can still preorder it from fye and best buy.
So there were different places to get one and customer had many options to choose from regarding price and shipping costs, needless to say that no matter where you got the vinyl from, it will the same edition.

but it's more fun to blame the 10c and pearl jam
May be it is a better deal for Sony to deal with HMV... you don't know what the truth is, I don't either, maybe it is as 81 said above, it's easier, and more fun, to blame pearl jam and the ten club, or in the case of that retail store owner, to blame sony because for him to make a good deal would be buy a certain number of copies, to sell each at X price, but he wouldn't be certain if he could sell all of any of them, specially if the price is as high as it was on soundstagedirect, and it might not be good business...
and after writing what you quote from me I read on another PJ20 vinyl thread that vinyl is manufactured in low quantities from the very beginning, which is true as well... I believe it was 81 who said that...
You don't think a band as big as Pearl Jam has some say on how their album is distributed?

I think they do this and most times stuff just rots.
Isn't it clear that they overstocked reissue Vs/Vitology?
They sign a few copies and sold the stock out on your slim chance of getting a signed copy.
Blaming the 10c for eBay stuff is insanity.
