Think about it. It's the main topic of the Activism page (or was at one point). The oil rig disaster has been a major theme in activism for this group. Plus you figure about 20 different states from Florida to Texas would be represented at the show. I think they could draw 30 to 40K to a mega dome show at the Superdome and help with tourism and bringing attention to the area.

Play New Orleans!!!!

So you want them to play a venue that holds almost close to 100,000 for a concert and have 30-40,000 people in it? Yeah, that makes sense. If they play New Orleans it will be in the basketball arena.

(Laughing only about your choice of venue -- Vermont flood relief is a worthy cause! I would attend.)

I doubt they'd draw 100K, but they'd far exceed 40K I believe. I think you'd get a ton of tourists to the area who have never been to New Orleans who would want to go. They could fill 3 basketball arenas. Just not quite 100K.

This is what most people don't understand and why the band is closer to playing theaters than they are to playing stadiums. They now play where they think they will sell out. They don't want to play to 3/4 filled venues they pay rent on. Just wait until you see their prices once they go back to smaller venues. hahahahaha

  • I was at the jazzfest show just after the oil spill- it was a madhouse. Couldn't get w/in fifty yards of the stage.

I've seen every PJ show in New Orleans since the Ramones opened for them in '95.

N.O. brings in crazy crowds every time. And if you've never been, you need to go...
