Bachmann vs. 8 Year old boy? His mother is a nut job.

First let me say I am very conservative, except I believe in gay rights and I am pro-choice.
That said I think this mother is Fucked in the head for bringing her 8 year old into politics.
Whats the deal?! I have two children and would never ever do something like this.
Okay so many don't like Bachmann, but she has a right to feel the way she does. If you dont agree with something you certainly don't get your children involved. Show up at a book signing just to start shit? I hate that crap.
If Obama was making a speech in my town I would never be disrespectful and start heckling him or send my daughter to tell him he is doing a lousy job.

The accompanying article says, "This isn't the first time that Bachmann has faced challenges to her stand on gay rights from the younger set. Last week, Bachmann was questioned by a teen about her opposition to gay marriage." I think a challenge from a teen would be more believable as far as being self motivated. It seems really questionable that an 8 year old would come up with this on his own but not out of the question- I'm thinking of one kid in particular who I knew very well who at that age might have said something like that on his own. But in this case it does look like mom put the kid up to it. Too bad because it's a good message.

I also respect your opinion, but I wouldnt categorize his mother as a nut job for taking her son to this event. I see it as a difference between politcs and human rights. Gay marriage isnt a political issue it is a human rights issue. The boy said, "My mommy's gay, but she doesn't need fixing." I am assuming that is in response to allegations that Bachmann's husband ran "pray away your gay clinic", which if those allegations are true, I have no respect for her. Maybe his mom is a nut job, but for all we know she has just taught her son that all people deserve respect regardless of race, orientation, gender, etc.

She has the right to feel that way, but if someone is prejudiced towards someone based on sexual orientation or race, I'm going to call you an asshole.

Too bad the boy missed the mark; Mommy needs fixing big time! Not for being gay, but for using her child as a political pawn. Seriously, who does that to a child? The kid was obviously very uncomfortable being directed to basically tell off a complete stranger. I hate everything Michelle Bachman stands for, but tools like this boy's mother are no better. No child should be used in a publicity stunt.
