Mad Max 4 to start shooting next year, starring Tom Hardy.

George Miller says the 5th movie is already written and they are working on a 6th.

I'm pretty excited for this!

Tom Hardy is pretty solid. Ever seen Bronson? I'm sure he'll blow up after Dark Knight Rises... So these aren't Mad Max "re-imagined"?... I sure hope not.

No.. they take place after Thunderdome.

The 4th movie was ready to go in 2003 with Mel Gibson, but the war and other factors put the project on hold. Mel is too old and crazy for the role now.

I just hope they don't modernize it.. I saw some pictures online of a futuristic looking car he will drive. I'd rather have it be an alternate universe where the world went to shit in the 1970s..

    so far getting great reviews!

I barely remember the first three. I remember beyond thunderdome. Second one i remember bits and pieces of it, first one not at all (maybe I never seen it)? I'll have to rewatch the others somehow.

Definitely seeing that this weekend. Still need to see Road Warrior and Thunderdome even though I hear the latter is not that good. Saw Mad Max years ago on Encore.

The main villain in Fury is the same guy who was the main villain in the original Mad Max!

It's at 99% on Rotten Tomatoes after 149 reviews. Only 2 have given it a splat.

    This is Citizen Kane territory.

Oh what a day. What a lovely day!

I read an article about Tom Hardy yesterday...he almost never was...as in the superstar he's becoming...he was hooked on drugs by age 11, and didn't get clean until after his first film...but he's been clean and sober for 12 years now it was really interesting to read about his life...

this isn't the article I read, but it's basically the same info...

Nicholas Hoult plays a main supporting actor in this movie.

    image

He has annoyed me in his prior roles. But he stole the show in this movie as a War Boy. He will win a best supporting actor in at least one awards show.

I've only seen a few things that he has been in, the X-men stuff and Warm Bodies. I didn't mind him, thought he was pretty good in those roles. Might see it tonight.

I wasn't even really looking forward to this one a few months back, thought oh no another remake....but this was pretty pretty awesome

saw a very late showing, 11:40. Was suppose to meet some friends but they texted me while i was driving to cancel it, and didn't see it until by the time I got there. Saw it by myself. Yeah def. face paced great action flick. Held up very well with the others (from what I remember anyway)

I really did enjoy the movie but I have a few complaints.
    1) it was too Damn long.
    2) it ended about 5 times.
    3) it desperately needed subtitles. There wasn't a lot of dialogue, and it's not like it really mattered, but I couldn't understand about 90% of what was said which was just irritating.

Loved the swamps of sorrow scene. Arrrrrrtttttaaaaaaaaax!

yeah they could have ended it earlier though.

i agree with you on the dialect/subtitles part, but that would have been kinda annoying.

You know what I think it is? The movie itself may not have been too long but the whole process of the movie-going experience takes forever. The showing I went to was "830" which means we were inside the building at 8, and stepped back outside slightly after 11pm.
