here is a scathing anti-gingrich video released today from a group of iowa republicans that belong to a group called "Iowans for Christian Leaders in Government".''

this is what i was talking about the other day in another thread, that gingrich is a more despicable human being than bill clinton because newt is actually running on a platform of "family values"... i think it is fair to say that this group does not think too highly of newt's maritial infidelities and his hypocracy of being in an affair at the same time that he was leading impeachment hearings against bill clinton...

please watch the video before commenting....

I didn't think anyone wanted to have a serious discussion about how newt's past might effect his future....

  • I will.

I don't trust Newt Gingrich at all. It's no shock that I'm a Bible-believing Conservative and the prospect of a Gingrich presidency scares me. He's a smart man, but he's a big-government politician too.

The reality of the next election is it will be between two autocrats - one will have a (D) next to his name and the other an (R).

i think you are right. everyone in the media today is talking how newt is surging, but it ignores the fact that there is a large contingent of republicans that will refuse to vote for him because of his moral failings. even if he is the nominee vs obama. i have a lot of respect for the group that made that ad because it takes a person or group with deep convictions to not vote for someone even if voting for that person might be in their best interest.

do you think we will see more of this this election cycle?

i think we will because the tea party has gone after a lot of republicans and ows is going after republicans AND democrats.

    this should get interesting.

I rarely put stock in anyone polling well this early in the game. Each candidate gets their fifteen minutes and then they go back to the bottom of the barrell.

The Tea Party element does change the dynamics of the election a little in the sense that conservative voters have become a bit more keen on each candidate's position; I still say the media blitz separates the serious contenders from the dreamers (though the dreamers often have better ideas).

As far as Gingrich goes, he's a flip-flopper in the order of Mitt Romney and John Kerry. He says what must be said at the time and then conveniently changes his position. Look at his stance on gun rights for further proof.
