This has been the best year to be a Pearl Jam Fan. Eddie Vedder Solo Tour and PJ20 @ Alpine Valley. Plus all the goods....wait....all the good I didn't get. Here is a list:

1. Alpine Valley Sweat Shirt
2. All 3 Alpine Valley Posters
3. Pearl Jam 20 Backpack
4. Pearl Jam Twenty Sound Track Vinyl
5. PJ 20 Fitted Hat at PJ 20
6. Pearl Jam 20 Deluxe Blu Ray
7. Eddie Vedder Solo License Plate T Shirt

Why can't 10 Club email members about upcoming goods and ask if they are interested in the item, preorder, and make the amount in the response; then sell the overstock.

As a fan I love the band and everything about it. But I feel so left out in not being able to get items.

Does anyone feel the same? Is there anyway we can make our voices heard to the persons behind 10C and the goods?

This is not a negative post, just a plea to 10C that we all want goods - please post in support.

Thanks

100% Agree...it really isn't hard to figure out yet 10c keeps getting it wrong. Yet, the majority of the stuff you missed out on buying can be found on eBay 5x's over face. Who is buying and selling? I would wager to guess that the majority of these flippers aren't 10c members. Time to figure it out 10c!
  • I'm not in agreement for a few reasons:

    1. Even though I occassionally miss out on an item, I like having a rare item- makes it a little shinier and special. Mass copies of everything would render the PJ merch collecting hobby useless. Take, for example, the Klausen SLC poster. A classic poster that should be among the bands finest. Printed 20, 000 times... it sits unsold in the goods section of the site. If I had went to the SLC show and, wow, bought that poster... I'd like it to be one of a limited edition- not a mass produced, worthless, piece of art.

    2. The band has shown that they will produce many copies of items. And, now, they sit in the goods section unsold. Why should they produce thousands to ensure everyone who has the slightest interest might be able to purchase something if they are so inclined? They produce what they are comfortable with- making a tidy profit margin while appeasing fans- and move on to the next item. Sometimes, they underestimate the demand. Like the socks, Vitalogy/Vs. set, etc., sometimes they guess too many.

    To Thirty Bills Unpaid:

I agree with the special nature of having limited edition anything. My point was that I feel they should reach out to the members well prior to production, request preorders paid in full, and then go to production with the limited run. However if it is limited or not it shouldn't matter how many are printed if you truly want the item because you are a fan and not a collector.

I am tired of seeing the 500% mark up on ebay and other places for limited edition products that were only available to 10 club.

If you review my list the majority were items I couldn't get at the concert, that again are on ebay for a 500% markup. I am a fan who wants to have the items from the band that they produce and it is disheartening when I watch all of the items produced just sold later (by others not pearl jam) for profit and not for the fan.

This post was a plea to 10C and to find support - thanks for the post.

I have no problem with your position. Was just stating mine. There will never be consensus on this topic! Have a good day!

Thanks, wish more could or would post here - let's make the voices heard
  • I don't really know what position I have.
I love that so much of my stuff is limited and worth something... but I don't know why, because I would want it anyway and have no ambition to sell....
I don't mean to offend anyone, a lot of what I say should be taken with a grain of salt... that said for most of you I'm a stranger on a computer on the other side of the world, don't give me that sort of power!
  • we should all remember that the 10c members, in total, will typically outnumber the production run of a 'limited' item. i mean, more of us want it than will ever be available. i don't mean to be rude. if an item for sale is valuable to the masses, then they will respond accordingly. i don't live online to track everything as it happens, but i have somehow been able to procure whats important to me. i have noticed, for whatever reason, that the 10c forum has increasingly had more and more and more and more and more members that want to complain about something totally within the control of said person. what is the misunderstanding here exactly?
