Good Evening,

Just wanted to know everyones opinion about the beer. As a self proclaimed beer drinker I can honestly say I liked it but it wasn't the greatest beer in the world.

I'm with you on that. Its definitely worth trying, but not something I would drink all the time even if it was at a cheaper price.

factoring in the price...it was one of the worst beers ever.

taking hte price out of the answer....i'd still rather have a miller lite....and if you check the craft beer thread, you will see that i know a little about beer.

Two of them got me reasonably soused.

First bottle tasted OK. The second bottle... well... didn't really matter by then... :D

I'm still waiting to try it. I'm hoping to get some for a X-Mas present. I've got a buddy in Michigan hopefully scoring some for me here in Minnesota. 8-)

  • I bought two. I regret the hell out of it. I love craft beer, particularly Dogfish Head. I tried really hard to find something good in this beer. It is okay at best. I had a Busch Light that was better (a palate cleanser).
It reminds me of a batch I tried to brew myself about 12 years ago in a dirty closet. At least I have some "collectors" bottles to keep.
I love Belgian style Ales. This was not one.

I had a bottle in the fridge that I just opened and tried for the first time. I'm not too thrilled with it. I like Belgian ale but this isn't one I would ever buy again if I even could find it. I would prefer a Blue Moon over this any day. Most Dogfish Head fans seem to be disappointed in it. Oh well, I just wanted the bottle anyway.

Pee the beer back into the bottle and no one may ever know the difference...

All the glowing reviews I have read about it make me really excited about going through the effort of importing it from out of state!

I've very rarely had a beer I out and out disliked, so we'll see what happens...

set your standards low and you won't be dissapointed. :|

it is way over priced for what it is.

  • It finally made its way to San Diego.
Picked up two at BevMo near the sports arena.
I'm a hoppy beer lover, so my expectations are low.
Wondering if bottle conditioning (waiting to drink em) for a couple weeks would be advised.

Paid $14. most i've paid for beer. would'a been cooler if the label had a little more style, but I see the tie in with the pj20 dvd. I;m sure I"ll keep the bottle for awhile...

I thought about that myself and I actually saw someone twitter thing asking that same question to Dogfish Head and they said it would not be a good "aged" beer after 90 days or so. Like a regular born on date..freshest within 110 days

Blue Moon is probably one of the best beers around so that's not really a fair comparison...however, if it tastes worse than Magic Hat's Mystery Beer from a few years ago I'll be a bit upset (and I love Magic Hat for the most part). Honestly I only bought it for the bottle anyway. Now if only my brother can remember to grab them from his place in VT which my 2 bottles have been sitting for over a month I'll be grateful, and then I can comment on the taste ;)

With as bitchy as most PJ fans are I'm sure they were hesitant of brewing a "true" craft beer in fear of losing out on sales. They figured if they brewed a generic tasting beer, it would be better recieved. Who would have known that you can't please a Pearl Jam fan no matter what you do.

The Busch Light was better (never thought I'd say that). The Faithful was bitter and musty.
I had a Chimay earlier. Now that is a Belgian.

Completely unimpressed. I like some of Dogfish's stuff but they do wierd things for the sake of being different. The beer was was very generic "yellow beer" flavored with a little bit of berry flavor. Definitely not a $15 beer. I have the empty bottle on my shelf but it doesn't look that cool either.
