White tailed spiders...

One thing about summer that I hate.
Found one in the kitchen yesterday, killed it.
They bite me during my sleep and leave me with massive welts, always on my back.

  • Whoa. I like all insects, but spiders are my least favorite. Love to look at em, but FML; could not handle knowing those bastards were with me when I sleep.
    Just, not enough.
    I need more.
    Nothing seems to satisfy.
I said, I dont want it.
    I just need it.
To breathe, to feel, to know Im alive.

Every summer I cop about 2-3 bites on average.
    Hurt as hell.
At first I thought it was mozzie bites.
Last summer the welt lasted over a month and turned hard, worst I've copped thus far.
I am shaking my bed sheets well from now on, but then again they are hunters so they probably crawl in after I have already gone to bed.

It freaks me out, I am scared of spiders, to know they are crawling around at night makes my skin crawl.

Are they like those videos I've seen on youtube where they get those MASSIVE welts and then they squeeze them and it's like toothpaste coming out?

Who knows, night bugs having fun whilst we sleep.
The white tails are hunters and hunt other spiders, so there is probably a chase every night followed by a killing.

Huntsmans! Fark they are too fast, by the time you get the vacuum cleaner out it's gone.

Nah, it's massive red welt, like a mozzie bite but way bigger, no puss.
I always get bitten on my back, so it hurts to sit back on a chair.
A few times I've been bitten on my legs.
I fucking hope they never bite me on my face, I have been bitten once on my forehead years ago, thought it was a pimple lol

Insect spray could not even kill that whitetail in the kitchen yesterday, let alone a huntsman lol.
I almost touched it/got bitten, I was wiping the bench clean and lifted this glass board to wipe underneath and it was close to my hand.

  • Once I had a huge huntsman outside my car door on the window, had to crawl to the other side to get out.

  • It's funny yet freaky removing a huntsman with a broom, last summer this big one was on the door, I swept it away to the lawn, a few mins later it was back!
I then kept sweeping it and it ran fast then would stop and turn around in a ready to strike pose!

LOL  Not the one I saw on Youtube....there would have been a cup of shit coming out of this guy's welt....so fucking gross! He would have had the biggest hole in his cheek afterwards. I feel a bit sick even thinking about it again.

did you try stepping on the bastard??? not sure what insect/arachnid survives being crushed underfoot... 'cept maybe a funnel web or giant tarantula... or maybe one of them awesome bird eating spiders. 8-)

  • It was on the bench lol.
I sprayed it, didn't work, it then crawled onto the stove.
It was on the grill thing, so I lifted it slowly and moved it to the sink where I flushed it down the drain!

Wow that's a wicked ass spider! I heard a few years ago that the average person swallows something like 2 spiders per year in their sleep. Never really believed it, but it's a disturbing thought non the less.
