RIP Patrice O'Neal

I'll have to listen to the O&A repeat today to see if they mentioned it earlier. He's been in a coma for a while now. Poor guy. He was a really funny guy. Loved how he said he always kept receipts from wherever he was, even donut shops, in case he was ever accused of something, he would have an airtight alibi. ...and if they didn't want to give him a receipt, he would get into a heated argument with the clerk, and then ask "what time is it!", so the clerk would remember seeing him at a certain time.

Another really good, funny one gone too soon.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

This is the guy from the Charlie Sheen roast, right? Didn't that chick talk a lot of shit about how he was going to die and all because of his weight and all? I bet she feels like shit.
  • That's awful news. He was always a great guest on Opie and Anthony. You could always tell from the sound of his voice and the sound of his laugh that he was a genuinely happy person. He was hysterically honest. I feel bad for his wife and friends today.

According to Wikipedia (which of course could be wrong), Jim Norton announced it on O&A today. I didn't even know he had suffered a stroke. Sad to see him go, he was sure funny. He was great in the Playa Haters Ball sketch on Chappelle's Show, and I loved his stand-up, especially the bit mentioned about the receipts.

I heard about the stroke when it happened but hadn't heard any updates since then. I kinda figured this was coming.

So sad. The guy had such a unique perspective on life and what makes us tick.

I'm not familiar with his stuff but he was on a local radio program here after the Charlie Sheen roast talking about it.

    That's a shame.

Maybe he should have taken it into consideration. It's not she could've predicted it was going to happen.
  • I was just thinking about the story he told on O&A about the time he pulled over to take a np in his car at a highway rest stop around Christmas time. He was woken up by someone tapping on his window and telling him, "It's cold out here." It took him a little while to realize the guy was propositioning him. He then watched as the guy drove off with a Christmas tree strapped to the roof of his car.

One of my favorites from O&A was the time that Jimmy talked Patrice out of liking the movie Face Off.

    but yeah,
    rest in peace indeed.

I'm with the earlier poster who
    referred to
    The Playa Hater's Ball sketch
    from Chappelle Show.
    Funny as balls!

    Cheers.

  • Was that the same day they tried to convince him that Independence Day was bad, too? I think about that every time I see that it's on TV.
